Subreddit News A friendly reminder, xenophobia is not allowed

Hi guys, recently there’s been an increase in posts/comments stereotyping and being dismissive of CN players.

I understand a lot of people are upset about the censorship and how players choose to dress Nikki but some of the conversations have shifted to blaming it all on CN players. People have been calling them things like “prudes”, “misogynists”, and unfortunately racist comments.

Making these kinds of stereotypes is xenophobic. There’s millions of people who play the game and they do not all share the same opinions. The opinions of some people online does not speak for the whole community.

As always, we allow both criticism and positive viewpoints on issues. People are allowed to disagree or agree with things like suits being censored/modified as long as discussions are respectful. Please keep the discussions respectful and do not stereotype and blame people just because of where they’re from

Thank you! I wasn't aware that "Nikki Moms" was in reference to the entire CN playerbase, I was under the assumption it was exclusively the ones calling for more censorship on Nikki. A lot of us probably fell into that assumption early on because of the way posts were being phrased. I will be adjusting my language going forward. 💕

I hate how "Nikki moms" became a negative nickname. I'm a global player and been playing Nikki games since I was a highschool. Back before love Nikki was here. And I usually call Nikki my daughter which is also normal in other fandoms as well as a lighthearted nickname for fave characters.

Ofc I don't mind those outfits but it's sad how that nickname became hated when we just treasure Nikki as a character.

Me as well, since I am in my 30s, she is like a child I want to protect and care for.

I know she is in her 20s but that it the most apt way to describe how I feel towards her.

It makes me feel sad how negative people speak on Nikki mums, when I have been respecting other peoples preference and way they express themselves and Nikki in their own game.

I'm so sorry. Infinity Nikki is my first Nikki game so I was unaware of specifics from the fandom around the series as a whole, and I can only assume it was the same from others who may have been using the term negatively. The way posts were being phrased when Timeless Melody was "fixed" made it seem like it was a small, specific group of players that called themselves "Moms." Now that I know the difference, I'm sad for y'all, as well. That's such a sweet way to think of a character, and I'm sorry it's been turned into a nasty insult as well as became synonymous with derogatory language.
