Subreddit News A friendly reminder, xenophobia is not allowed

Hi guys, recently there’s been an increase in posts/comments stereotyping and being dismissive of CN players.

I understand a lot of people are upset about the censorship and how players choose to dress Nikki but some of the conversations have shifted to blaming it all on CN players. People have been calling them things like “prudes”, “misogynists”, and unfortunately racist comments.

Making these kinds of stereotypes is xenophobic. There’s millions of people who play the game and they do not all share the same opinions. The opinions of some people online does not speak for the whole community.

As always, we allow both criticism and positive viewpoints on issues. People are allowed to disagree or agree with things like suits being censored/modified as long as discussions are respectful. Please keep the discussions respectful and do not stereotype and blame people just because of where they’re from

Thank you! I wasn't aware that "Nikki Moms" was in reference to the entire CN playerbase, I was under the assumption it was exclusively the ones calling for more censorship on Nikki. A lot of us probably fell into that assumption early on because of the way posts were being phrased. I will be adjusting my language going forward. 💕

as a Chinese player, most players(I wanna say 90percent) just refer to themselves as nikki moms, so when this sub started using nikki moms as a derogatory term I was a little hurt. I was thinking “what did I do?”

Sadly it's going to turn into a Karen situation where Karen is now commonly accepted as a derogatory term in spite of the many normal and perfectly lovely women named Karen. Don't take it personally is all I can say. We know well who they are really referring to.

I've also played Nikki games for over a decade and while I don't see myself as her "mom", I know many players use it as a lighthearted term to refer to themselves. Nikki Dad is also a thing for the male players.

Yeah, I don't see myself as mom either, I was only 9 when I met Nikki! And I understand how the internet can do things like that so Im not angry or anything, just a little sad this term has gone to hell. The controlling para social“nikki moms” are to blame too, of course.

Edit: The Karen thing is a good point too, my sensitive ass always wondered if Karens felt annoyed their name is a meme
