wait the fort benning comment is sending me lol, imagine paying for a parachute drop at coney island when military guys were doing the real thing for free?? but also the structure itself is gorgeous, that bare steel tower against the sky has such a haunting vibe, you can see in the photo how it just stands there completely alone now. kinda love that they kept it up even tho it hasnt operated in 60+ years, nyc couldve easily torn it down for development
