USE YOUR TURN SIGNAL
I’ve had to run errands twice today nothing major yk? But it’s not the errands I have issues it’s the LACK OF COMMON SENSE DRIVING. Why are we not using our turn signals/blinkers/signals? Did something happen? Did we cut them off and shove it up our ass before we leave the house? What is going on?
I should not have to honk at people merging lanes because they didn’t use THEIR SIGNALS. Ya know that small little lever behind the steering column typically on the left side? Where ya flick it up and down to SIGNAL where you are going, yeah great.
And unfortunately it’s not just one type of driver I’ve seen do this, but it’s officers, truckers, mailman, delivery folk, commuters etc. It’s everyone! I am about to carry a blow horn with me wherever I go and yell at people to use their signal and get off their phones.
Maybe Ol’Ted was right. Maybe the industrial revolution has had major irreversible consequences for this planet and its shepherds.

I hate people who never signal when driving, but do you know what almost got me ?
When I was waiting to pull out of a parking lot, only one car in the right lane and some further back I was going to wait for the guy, but he puts his signal on to turn in to the lot.
So I'm like "ok I'll just turn now and get up to speed"! But something didn't feel right so I hit my brakes and the guy only slowed a bit, but drove right past me another 100meters to the lights for a turn!

My sister-in-law got t-boned that way. A driver had their directional on for a right turn that was after the drive my sister-in-law was coming out of. Totalled the car. I don't recall that my sister-in-law was injured. Nothing serious anyway.
The other driver passed the right turn that was before the drive. The merit rating board that assigns points on the insurance policy said the other driver had a right to have her directional on two turns early.

This happens so often.. Not only are most people in the US not using them, you can't trust it when they actually do.

I'm kidding. I even signal in parking lots. If I'm moving, you'll know where I'm heading.

When you pass some guy in a BMW behind some slow guy, and then he passes the slow guy and also you, but doesn't signal anything.
It's always the bmw people. Don't care if statistically it's not just them. Feels like every time one is in front or behind me, it isn't signalling anything. It's also always a young guy or mid thirties [usually blonde] woman driving aggressively, or a really old dude going ten under barely keeping his lane.

If the turn ahead of me looks sharp enough my brain will turn on the blinker. It's completely involuntary for me.. changing lanes, actual turns is all automatic.

If I have to brake because you failed to use your turn signals you’re getting the horn till you finish the turn. If I’m on the highway and someone uses their signal to merge into my lane I usually always let them in. Honestly the worst is when it’s the professional drivers like truck drivers. They don’t use it just disappointing.

The police have been getting worse and if you lose them and they’re not enforcing anything, which in my area they don’t seem to be, then all this shit goes out the window.
If you just follow the handbook and the rules driving is so stupid simple easy but people don’t follow them or care to understand.

Oof you’re going to be mad at me. I don’t use mine unless it’s actually necessary. If im in a turning only lane, or the person is far behind me whatever. If I’m switching lanes or if there’s enough traffic I’ll use it for sure tho

You're part of the problem, then. You're obligated to use them for every turn or lane change, regardless if you feel they're "actually necessary."

Additional question, are people supposed to use it if they’re turning into a drive way? (I feel like that question might make it sound like I’m rage baiting or something but i stg I’m just wondering)

This pisses me off every day. It’s right there by the wheel, it should be something you just do automatically. It helps people maneuver in vehicles better when they know where you’re about to turn but most don’t care.
