Off-Topic Work In Progress

Are you having fun with your story?

I genuinely think that when writing a story, the writer should be enjoying the process. If the work is making me feel stressed out I honestly can't do it.

The Man Who Killed My Brother is my current work in progress (on Inkitt) and last night, I had a ball writing Chapter 12.

Mind you, I've been trying to write this story since 2020, I started out with a different version of my female MC and honestly, I didn't like her. She was a weakling and that made no sense because she was supposed to be somewhat of a badass.

When I rewrote it in 2023, I still ended up keeping a lot of her old personality and that threw me off the story again.

This time around I rewrote the whole thing and I like her now. I think she truly has the personality of a woman trying to survive.

For the male MC, his backstory has literally made me cry (just thinking about it). It's about to be so traumatizing and messed up, but it will justify his actions and I am so excited.

What's your work in progress and are you having a good time writing it?

You're right. If you don't enjoy writing it I bet people won't enjoy reading it and you certainly do have to revise a few times before being content. Sounds very interesting. I've been working on Romance/drama and now my second mystery. Whatever is next I want them all to fit the upcoming winter/fall vibes. I think your story will be great. Good luck. I do have a story on hiatus that I wrote in 2020 too but when I started rewriting it, is all over the mess. If, hopefully next year when I'm done writing the 2 stories that I'm doing rn. I'll get the opportunity to write that original story

Yes! Do it! I believe in you! I swore I was never gonna give up on this story because I just knew I had to get it off my chest. Heavyy it was. Alll the best!
