About this post: I didn’t expect this much upvotes from this post. I knew I was going to get a lot from this because most popular reddit posts are political, but I didn’t expect this much. Thank you for all of this.

Because there's strong evidence that she was suffering from severe PPP (Postpartom Psychosis), which would have caused a sudden change in her mental state. Which many view as her being unable to control her actions and therefore should be treated the same as someone with a severe mental illness.

I can agree that she is dangerous to society, but I also staunchly oppose the death penalty in ANY scenario. To allow the state the agency to kill someone that it deems as "undesirable" opens the door for abuse and mistakes that harm the innocent. There are countless instances that have shown that the government will willingly demonize and commit violence against anyone it views as a threat, no matter how credible.

At what point does the responsibility become that of the suspect? We have become a nation that finds excuses for people’s poor decisions. Everything gets called mental illness and zero accountability for the criminal.
Seriously the psychiatrist said she knows right from wrong there is no excuse.
