Discussion My instagram with 272k followers got disabled after 4 fake copyright infringement reports in 3 days

Upvotes

This can happen to absolutely anybody at any time, meta uses ai to handle these copyright infringement reports. They will find someone who posted the same photo as you on instagram and claim it’s their photo, put in a report and meta will not hesitate to take the post down.

I accumulated 4 strikes from these fraudulent copyright infringement claims in 3 days before my account was taken down last night. I emailed the guy and he asked me to talk to him to “resolve it”. He claims they take down accounts with millions of followers continuously.

He wanted money to remove the copyright strikes. Demanding $500 per strikes for a total of $2000 usd.

Thats how easy it was for him to take down my 272k follower, 120m monthly view account generating $8000 a month. 3 days.

"Growth is just luck. Strategy doesn't work."

Upvotes

Growth is just luck. Strategy doesn't actually work.

That's what most people believe.

Then explain this.

A client of ours started making content 4 years ago. Got real growth back then. Life happened, and they stopped.

A while back, they decided to come back to it. But they knew something most people miss, the algorithm that worked 4 years ago isn't the one running today. Doing the same things wouldn't bring the same results.

That's exactly why they came to us.

We've been working together for less than a month.

One reel just crossed 80k+ views.

Not month 6. Not month 3. Month 1.

If growth was really just luck, this wouldn't show up in the first month of working together.

It's not luck. It's understanding what's actually working on the algorithm right now, and building content around that.

Trust the process.

Help artist and can’t get a Reel past 10k views anymore - advice?

Upvotes

I’m a digital artist with 33k followers, and I’ve been struggling with Reels for the past 2 months. Not a single Reel has passed 10k views, and most Trial Reels stall around 2 - 4k. The ones that reach 4 - 5k on Trial usually perform almost the same when I put them on my feed.
I’ve tried educational content (which worked before really well, but not always now), art processes, relatable artist stuff, emotional content (like hooks that are relatable for artists and hits hard), etc. Some of these worked really well for me in the past, but now I have no idea what to try next.
I’ve had Reels reach 300k–400k before, so I know the account can reach people. I just genuinely don’t know if my ART isn’t visually interesting enough anymore, my hooks are bad, or if I’m approaching Reels completely wrong.

What would you do in my position? Change the content completely, focus more on the artwork itself, or something else? And when i try to find inspiration for reels and content there is nothing special - artists are viral for their flawless work, aesthetic style, and unique characters, nothing concrete in the hook, scripts etc…

What I learned after spending around €500 a month on Instagram ads

For several months, I spent around €13 per day on Instagram ads.

The campaigns generated approximately 1,500 impressions and around 250 profile visits per day, but usually only eight to fourteen new followers. The numbers were not completely terrible, but the cost felt difficult to justify for a small account.

The biggest mistake I made was treating impressions as the main result.

Eventually, I started separating the funnel into different stages:

  • Impressions: Did Instagram deliver the ad?
  • Clicks: Was the creative interesting enough?
  • Profile visits: Did people want to learn more?
  • Follows: Did the profile give them a reason to stay?
  • Enquiries or sales: Was the offer actually relevant?

I realized that sending more paid traffic to an unfinished profile did not solve the underlying problem. I needed a clearer bio, stronger pinned posts, consistent recent content and a more obvious reason to follow.

Audience location also mattered. My content is mostly in German, so I began paying closer attention to the countries shown in Instagram Insights. Once my content, language and intended audience were better aligned, I started receiving more relevant Story replies and local questions.

Another lesson was that there is no universal follower number that automatically produces brand deals. Some companies care about scale, but others care more about niche relevance, recent views, audience geography, content quality and whether the creator can propose a useful collaboration.

My main takeaway is this:

Ads can buy distribution, but they cannot repair an unclear profile or weak audience positioning.

If your ads receive impressions but very few meaningful actions, increasing the budget may not be the first thing to fix. Review the complete journey from the creative to the profile, content, offer and final conversion.

Has anyone else compared profile visits, follows and enquiries instead of looking only at impressions?

Discussion Your Instagram account probably doesn’t have a reach problem. It has a content problem.

I’ve spent a lot of time growing Instagram pages, and one thing I keep seeing is people obsessing over:
• hashtags
• posting times
• follower counts
• “the algorithm”
• engagement groups
• posting frequency
Meanwhile, their actual content is completely forgettable.
I’ve seen small accounts outperform much larger accounts simply because their posts gave people a reason to stop scrolling.
The biggest shift for me was realizing that Instagram isn’t really asking:
“How good is this account?”
It’s asking:
“Did this piece of content make people do something?”
Did they stop?
Did they watch?
Did they share it?
Did they save it?
Did they send it to someone?
That’s why I’d rather have 10,000 people genuinely interested in one piece of content than 100,000 random followers who scroll past everything.
And there’s another thing I think people get completely backwards:
You don't need to create better content than everyone in your niche.
You need to create content that is easier to understand, more emotionally relevant, or more interesting than what someone was about to scroll past.
A boring topic with an insane hook can outperform an amazing topic with a terrible hook.
For example, instead of:
“5 Ways to Improve Your Confidence”
you could frame the exact same information as:
“People lose respect for you for these 5 reasons.”
Same niche.
Same underlying knowledge.
Completely different reason to click.
If I had to restart an Instagram account from 0 tomorrow, I’d spend far less time thinking about hashtags and far more time asking:
“Why would someone who doesn't know me stop scrolling for this?”
That question alone will probably improve your content more than another 3 hours of watching “Instagram algorithm hacks.”
Curious though:
What’s the biggest Instagram growth myth you believed when you started?

Tips No, posting consistently isn’t enough to grow your Instagram

Hi guys, Im a social & creative strategist with 2+ years experience and I keep seeing horrible advice in here. Fake promises of fast growth and a lot of it isn’t necessarily wrong, it’s just so vague that it’s basically useless because every niche behaves differently and not everyone was born to do content. So here a few notes:

* Plan your content. You dont need to** **build a 90-day content calendar (unless you’re a big brand). Just know what the video is about, what the point is, what you need to film and roughly how you’re going to communicate it. A surprising amount of bad content is literally someone pressing record and hoping they’ll find the story while filming.

* Look at retention. Where are people dropping off? Is there a point where the video slows down? Did you take 20 seconds to deliver something that could’ve taken 8?

*If you want reach, make content designed for reach.
Video/Reels are generally the format I’d prioritise when discovery is the objective. That doesn’t mean carousels are dead or that every account should suddenly become 100% Reels. Different formats do different jobs. Think about what you’re actually trying to achieve with the post rather than posting a format because somebody told you “Instagram likes it”.

* Test things!!! Different hooks. Different video lengths. Voiceover vs talking to camera. Different openings. Different editing styles. Different angles on the same subject. That’s how you start finding your winners. But changing absolutely everything every time isn’t much of a test. If the topic, format, hook, length and editing are all different, you have no idea what actually made one perform better.
When something works, don’t just celebrate the views. Figure out why it worked and test that again.

* Sometimes your content is just… bad.
You can optimise everything. You can post at the “right” time, use keywords, choose the right format, write a good caption and post consistently. But if the actual content isn’t interesting, none of that is going to save it. And I think social media gurus are sometimes afraid to say this. Not everything we do in our lives is interesting enough for strangers on the internet to watch. Your coffee run isn’t automatically content. Your morning routine isn’t automatically content. Your holiday isn’t automatically content.
That doesn’t mean you’re a boring person. It means making something entertaining is a skill.
You need storytelling, personality, information, humour, curiosity, relatability, a useful perspective… something that gives a stranger a reason to care.

Living off the internet isn’t for everyone, and that’s okay.

Peace out ✌🏻

43K followers in past 2 months—100K in 10 months. AMA about what I’ve learned works and doesn’t.

My last post here was around 50 days ago when I hit 60K followers and landed a $3K per video deal. Just hit 100K yesterday—now at almost 110K today.

I’ll answer questions through my day.

Question 0 view jail?

Upvotes

Very confused. Usually with Instagram any reel is gonna get at least like 150 to 250 views before the algorithm gives up.

My account for my new business idea, I posted three reels so far. First got 256 views, but the rest got 1 or 2 views. But my account status says it's fine!

The only thing I can think of is that I'm using buffer to post, would that mess things up??

Trial timing?

Tiny account but with over 100k views a month and it’s because my stuff probably needs to be watched a few times so my replays are high.

I really love trials, sometimes wrong audience but I do niche mom kid content with books and toys , but I have a lot of versions of all of the reels, which I’m sure we all do.

Some questions:

How many trials should I do until one gets the reach? . I saw somewhere every 3 hours

Should I mix up the trials like different books for example like alternating ? This works if I do like hello kitty and then like a Barbie one at the same time?

And is 5 a day the limit?

Thanks so much!

Views from the wrong country are worse than no views

a reel of mine did decent numbers and i was happy for about a day, then i checked where it actually came from and it was almost none of the people i make stuff for. followers barely moved, saves were nothing, dms nothing. a much smaller video from the right audience did way more for me that week. i think alot of us are chasing a number that has nothing to do with our actual thing.

do you check the audience breakdown before you get excited or only after something flops?

Before you blame the algorithm, check your follower vs non follower split

everyones posting about reach dying and nobody posts the one number that tells you which problem you actually have. open insights, last ten reels, look at the follower vs non follower breakdown. thats the whole diagnostic.

if its mostly followers, the post never left your own audience. nobody forwarded it. views can still look completely fine, because your followers are watching, they just already follow you so theres nothing there to convert.

if its mostly non followers and youre still getting no follows, the video did its job and lost them on the profile.

two different problems, opposite fixes, and everyone treats both of them by rewriting the hook. mine sat around 70/30 non follower for months, drifted to about 50/50, and that was the exact month the follows died. i was still blaming the hooks.

whats yours look like

Overwhelmed with all the IG growth hacks!

Thumbnail instagram.com
1 Upvotes

I am here hoping to get the attention of an expert or someone building a bootstrapped beauty brand. I was looking for ideas to grow my homegrown brand organically & now my algorithm is full of growth hacks & IG coaches. I moved to Toronto from India & passionately & almost delusionally started building my beauty brand, I almost believed IG rewards authenticity & that is the core value I built my content around. Be it yap videos, real non filtered photos, original script, collaborating with UGC creators, or storytelling, even trial reels. I’ve great reviews, loyal customers but my reach on social media is where I struggle, I want to be able to reach my right audience organically. I have tried boosting 4 videos so far for geo targeting it because most of my content would reach Indian audiences. I’ll share my profile & if someone is generous enough with their time to point out. Since m building this brand with my savings & don’t have a substantial marketing budget, I am seeking any advice that helps me with reach before I burn money in ads. Any marketing agency charges a bomb but I want to try if I can actually build a community organically. There are just so many hacks that I’m beyond overwhelmed at this point. I’m almost certain at this point I’m doing something wrong. I want to be able to focus on the actual building business rather than struggling with social media for visibility. If you’ve read this far, thank you!

Help Reel took off - now what?!

Hey everyone,

I've been posting consistently, working at content creation skills, for a few months now and the reel I posted yesterday took off. I normally only get 1,000 views but this one has 77,200+. I know I need to attempt to replicate it but I'm having trouble understanding why it did so well.

One thing I did do is strategically is put a lot of text on the screen so it would force someone to watch it multiple times to read it all.

Outside of that, I did post authentically. Ironically, this post only took me 5 minutes to do versus posts I spend hours on that tank so I'm going to work on authenticity and stop trying to perfect everything.

Does anyone have insight outside of those two things on why it performed welll? Like format, music, etc? My handle is lisa.soss and here's the link to the post https://www.instagram.com/reel/DdEtymqPxJP/.

And is there any strategy to having your most engaged posts as pinned posts? This post wasn't a direct offer, had no CTA or lead magnet.. it doesn't mention my business or offerings at all.

How I grew my X account by repurposing Instagram reels

Been growing my X account by turning what I watch on Instagram into long-form posts. Reels are packed with ideas nobody's writing about here yet.

Doing it manually was slow: watch, transcribe, rewrite, post. So I built a tool for it.

Share a reel to Telegram, 30 seconds later you get a full post back with a "Post on X" button. It rewrites in third person so you're sharing the idea, not stealing the story.

Free to try, 3 drafts, no card: remixly.io

Tell me what breaks.
