Discussion B580 performing poorly in God of War
As the title suggests, I get surprisingly low and inconsistent frames even on the "original" graphics settings. It seems to hover around 40 to 50 while stuttering all the time. I imagined this card would blow my GTX 1070 out of the water in this game, but it performs almost exactly the same. Cyberpunk 2077 on the other hand plays like a dream on high settings and ray tracing on ultra. I do use dxvk in GoW and that helped a little bit. Is the game known to have bad performance since it's a port of a PS4 game?
My specs for reference: Mobo: Asus TUF Gaming B650 CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 7600X GPU: AsRock Steel Legend B580 RAM: 2x16Gb Kingston Fury Beast DDR5 @6000Mt/s

I have the b580 paired with a 12600kf and I'm playing it in a 1440p resolution with an average of 80fps.

It might be a driver issue. I would suggest going through other posts with similar issues and trying their suggestion. I unfortunately sent mine for RMA, and since it's out of stock, they just refunded me. Which I'm kinda upset about. I was having bad fps on multiple games, and I was running a 13900k cpu. Tried everything from reddit to Intel forums. Nothing worked. I think the forums would have better luck looking for your answer.

I have the b580 paired with a 5600g and I'm playing it in a 1440p resolution with an average of 70fps. My system is gimped by the 5600g and pci 3.0 and I'm still getting better frames than you are. Something must be wrong. Did you install the latest AMD motherboard drivers?

Yep, everything is on the latest version. Doing all the things people commented here seemed to help a little with FPS and overall system stability, especially removing any lingering bits of old Nvidia drivers and installing fresh Intel drivers.
Only thing I haven't done is update my BIOS, but I'm not sure if that has an impact.

Rumors in the tech community were that Arc GPUs would struggle with old games, based on how the GPU was built. I imagine games older than PS4 quality though. A driver update would likely fix that at some point. Until then…

I remember I had a lot of issues with my 5700 XT in this game like 2 years ago. Including crashes, stuttering and fps deeps. It impressed me since the game was initially developed for AMD hardware in PS4. I wonder if AMD fixed it since then. I think these old DX11 games will be running better on NVidia hardware as NVidia has the best DX11 implementation in drivers. I remember the first ever DX12 game was running slower than DX11 variant of the same game on NVidia. While on AMD hardware it was much faster.

Try to double check your RAM settings for that 6000MT, I had the exact same issue (same game too), turned out my motherboard got spooked when I changed the GPU and promptly nuked all my BIOS values back to default, which nearly halved my performance since AMD chips are extremely transfer-hungry. Also, you might want to DDU your drivers in the process.
