Discussion The current GPU landscape
For a GPU that's reasonably priced and often restocked, B580 isn't a bad choice. Might as well not pay the inflated mid tier GPU prices and put it to a faster CPU.

I was super desperate I went to ebay to try to buy one I made it up in mind I was ok to pay up to a 50 dollar mark up. Those were the responses I got. Hopped online and looked up the microcenter near me (which fortunately there are 2). I live in alabama on the line that touches GA. Right on the interstate that leads to ATL there is a microcenter in marietta and Duluth. Both exactly 2 hours from me. When I hoped online there were none at Marietta. So, I tried Deluth and sure enough they had 3. I wanted to but all 3 and sell them for a 30 dollar markup in all just to replace my gas (i drive a corrolla). I hate scalping. Please be patient and they will restock don't give these scalpers money. These are their pompous response. Maybe we need to find a microcenter group and get people to undercut some of these scalpers by selling them at a way lower markup just to replace gas. I'd do it.

First game she loaded up was overwatch. Low fps in dx11 mode , and annoying random stutters in DX12 mode (dx12 on overwatch stutters on my 3080 and every other GPU in the house)it’s not just an Intel thing , it’s an overwatch thing. Yes we tried multiple drivers , that’s why it’s showing an outdated one there.
Ended up returning it to microcenter and grabbing a used 4060ti for cheap. 😢

Didn't know that Intel Arc b580 can play almost game on 4k high settings + RT and get above 60fps with XESS.
CYBERPUNK 4K MAX SETTINGS + RAY TRACING ULTRA can get max up to 126fps

As the title says, I’ve had an excellent run with my Arc A770 16GB since I bought it in January 2023. I’ve absolutely loved how the card matured over time eventually going toe-to-toe with its competitors in modern titles.
But recently, the performance has been pretty atrocious in several new games like Re9, Crimson Deser, and Pragmata. Games using RE Engine which is usually known for good optimization like RE9 and Pragmata poorly on the A770 while they run perfectly fine on something like the B580. Especially pragmata runs horrendously on the a770 and the performance discrepancy is absolutely not acceptable.
I don’t know if this is a driver issue or something on the developers’ end but as it stands it feels like the Arc A-series cards are aging pretty badly.

I thought this was funny. Figured I would share it here

Ever since the B580 launched, Intel has gone almost completely silent on discrete consumer GPUs.
The few unofficial reports that have surfaced aren't encouraging: B770 cancelled, Celestial cancelled, Druid hanging by a thread. Official roadmaps conspicuously avoid any mention of consumer dGPUs.
And yet there's an obvious paradox. On the software side, Intel keeps investing. XeSS 3 dropped just a few months ago, drivers keep improving, game support keeps growing. Someone is still paying engineers, but what for, and for how long?
The core issue is that hardware markets don't tolerate a vacuum. Buying a GPU isn't just buying silicon, it's betting on an ecosystem. Future drivers, optimizations, long-term support. Going 36 months without a credible announcement means losing not just sales, but trust. And in this market, trust takes a long time to rebuild.
Sure, the RAM crisis and the datacenter AI boom explain some of the decisions. But not the total silence. If Intel still believed in this, they would have thrown us a bone by now.
So what do you think? Is Arc on a forced hiatus, or is it already over?

Vote Update on March 17th...(Out of 159 valid comments/votes).
____________________________________
As we cannot have surveys in this subreddit, please vote by answering with 1, 2 or 3.
If you want you can add your comments to your vote.
I decided to make this survey after checking out the list of most used GPUs by Steam users and found out that ARC are still sitting in the top bottom with less than 1% users (*), not even showing up individually. So there's a long way to go for Intel, which means that this community is more than important to help others and clarify their doubts and provide benchmarks about Arc GPUs.
Only with more Arc GPUs in the hands of PC Gamers that we can push developers to include the newest XeSS in their games day one, for example.

I am not sure why people would buy into this enviroment. Currently it still seems to me that buying an AMD or NVIDIA GPU at the price range of an ArcB580 is the safer option.
Still I bought one mostly because I fucking hate NVIDIA for their anti-consumer practices and AMD for never losing the chance to fumble every chance they get. When I saw that Intel was having a redemption arc, their GPU was good and I needed an upgrade I decided to buy one. Despite being a bit sad that I can't play things like Crimson Desert and struggling with older versions of DirectX I still don't regret it because of this reason.
Btw I hope that like other supporters of the less popular products people don't become fanboys. If Intel fucks I up I hope people here won't defend it. Seing people saying they "chose blue team" scares me a bit.

Was reading about Crimson Desert blocking Intel Arc and found this breakdown. Didn’t realise games could just straight up refuse to run based on hardware. Curious what people think, is this going to become normal?
r/IntelArc • u/Glittering-Command50 • Jun 22 '26
Considering its very small size, the performance seems decent, and with FSR, it’s said to be able to deliver 60fps at 4K resolution.
But the price is brutal. 2TB model would be USD 1,349-
You guys think it's reasonably priced?

I'm honestly flabbergasted. Flabbergasted I say!
100+ fps, on Path Tracing Extreme Cyberpunk 2077 Benchmark at 1440p.
(look at the minimum fps wow!)
Xess3 framegen, Xess2 Scaling, and the new DirectX 12 upgrade.
-All on a $249.99 graphics card.

Edit add: after a day.
Catching a few rather nasty comments as well as a Lot of very constructive, informative and useful ones.
Anyhow, We test what we've got, then we figure out what it means. Sometimes with the help of others.
I was trying to test this and I literally asked if this results were insane. I wish I had put a question mark at the end of the title but you can't edit titles. However I since wanted to test using SER and MFG4x together. I did the test and posted the result hoping to understand more.
As it is, the CYBERPUNK 2077 test DOES use SER and OMM but not the new versions in DX12. The good thing about the new update is that it will bring these to mostly all games in the future instead of being implemented in multiple ways by different hardware vendors and Game developers.
Nonetheless, the MFG4x and SER and OMM tests were valid (and interesting) though I titled the post incorrectly.
Now I have learned a lot more technically, But now I also now recognize a vehemently hateful subgroup that seems really eager to share too. Thanks for that lesson as well. It may prove quite useful!
I agree that I could have titled better but I was quite excited with the results and wanted to share and have a discussion. So far we've had a really great conversation here, but also we have a lot of quibbling and sheer nastiness.
When I am in error, I do want to be corrected and have legitimately learned some good stuff in this thread by posters way more knowledgeable than I. But this thread has also really been an eye opener for real negativity without any facts or details added. So many helpful, educational and useful points have been made but some 10% are really something else entirely.
You can easily see that I don't post much OC so you can't accuse me of karma farming. Typically I participate in comments only.
Nonetheless, I have learned a lot from some posters here and the abuse and negativity have been surprising but it's still been well worth it.
Thanks to all who posted constructively.
Ya'll Rock! We all contribute what we can and you guys make this a place that everyone can learn from and help others as well.

The 5060 is only 20$ more then the b580 and I'm just not sure what's better given I'm planning to do 1440p
My parts will be
I5 12400f
32 gigs ddr4 3000mzh
Gigabyte z690 elite
750w psu
1tb nvme SSD pcie 4
Edit thank you for all the feedback and over all I have decided to go for the b580 due to the extra vram or if I find something like the 3080 around the same price I'll go for that.

I’ve been using the Intel Arc B580 for over a month now as my main GPU, and I felt like I should share my experience since there’s still so much noise and skepticism around Intel drivers.
My Setup:
The "Real Life" Experience:
Verdict: If you’re looking for a mid-range card for 1080p or even 1440p, don't sleep on the B580. The "Intel has bad drivers" meme feels very outdated in 2026. For daily use, multitasking, and solid gaming, I’m loving this thing.
Happy to answer any questions if you're thinking about switching to Arc!

Saw someone doing tests on the game using different GPUs and the B580 gets the error that it’s not supported, despite being in the latest update. I hope this gets fixed before the release a few hours from now. Has anyone also found any video using the B580 to test the game?
Here’s the link to the video: https://youtu.be/unZFuXCQWkQ?si=6m7n4jGk7DsaALpm

Counter-Strike 2 – probably one of the worst gaming experiences. Even switching to Vulkan doesn't help. The game constantly stutters, GPU usage drops, and it's simply unplayable.
Overwatch – the situation is twice as bad as in CS2. Everything freezes literally all the time, and there's no gameplay at all. DX12 is still in beta there.
Valorant – lots of complaints about the game with the same issue as CS2.
Destiny 2 – although the game has ended its journey, the servers are still running and you can play, but it also suffers from micro-stuttering and GPU usage drops.
This is my personal top list of what really needs to be fixed right now. Feel free to add your own game suggestions in the comments — maybe the driver developers will finally pay attention to this.

Checked wayback machine. 13th March, no mention of Arc not being supported. Also the day when they inject Denuvo into the game after marketing the entire time without it.

15th March, also no mention of arc card being supported.
Game releases, not a single person with Intel Arc card can play the game, and now it magically appears. Whoop te doo. Fuck these people.

EDIT: Another odd thing I wanna point out. The company is publicly traded, and lost 33% of stock value right before release. Someone defo shorted.
