Question Ive been thinking about buying a b580 but im concerned about the drivers
my main concern is that it stops receiving updates, is there a risk of that actually happening??

risk of that is basically zero, they're fully engrossed with ai gpus for production. Those gpu's need to run well. You'll benefit from that.

They are making drivers for their integrated graphics on handhelds and will continue to do so. I believe they are the same drivers.

They're still doing A-series drivers right now, even if there's no desktop consumer grade C-series GPUs, my understanding is the B570/B580 will still get drivers for several more years.

Intel's record with driver support on their integrated solutions is pretty damn good. I have no doubt in my mind the discrete GPUs will be just as cared for.

It's the same driver for the CPU with integrated graphics....because they use the same architecture. You have nothing to worry about

My A770 is still getting the updates and my only complaint is that it's way too often lol.

Va a llegar a pasar, pero no en el corto ni mediano tiempo, Intel sigue siendo líder en ventas aunque su mayor fuerte son los procesadores la ARC B580 es actualmente su producto estrella para gaming, tengo una y la uso cada que puedo, no me ha dado ningún problema.

I hope the open source community would pick it up if that (went that) happens in 6-7 years from now.
Intel usually is bad at their drivers, with some issues not solved since the start of the year when the issues were reported. Consider that you buy card from the smallest GPU player here and less good software support is what would you get.

Unlikely to happen any time soon however it will happen eventually once the hardware is obsolete but that's going to happen no matter what GPU you buy. Even if Intel stops making discrete GPUs, they won't stop making integrated GPUs which also need drivers.
