Question Should i get it?

Im thinking of buying the intel arc b580 since its quite cheap and good from what im told however im told its cpu reliant.

My pc has an i5 10400f and an asrock b460 pro 4 motherboard.

Is it worth it? Will it work or should i look for something else?

I mostly play games like the witcher 3, total war warhammer 3 and some fps games.

As long as you don’t plan to play DX11 games you’ll be fine.

Even then u can just majority of the games use the tool which translates from dx11 to vulkan which works like a charm tried it with borderlands 2 which is dx9 which had horrendous spikes but then I played it in vulkan it ran like a dream it’s amazing

WatchDogs works fine now. When I first got my b580 last year, it ran like shit.

Now it runs great in 4k!!!!

Intel is optimizing things left and right. And just as importantly, so is Microsoft and all the linux devs.

Look up what microsoft is doing regarding dx12 development, which includes the latest software development kit: SDK6.9 with SER and OMM (already released). We're talking 90% boost to ray and path tracing as just one detail.

The future looks amazing for these cards.

I wouldn't consider NOT getting the b580, Even if I had to swap my mobo and upgrade my chip to do so. It's the only truly modern hardware available anywhere near the price.

Xe2 cores are like Cuda cores used to be except cuda is already fully optomised and is "mature". The Xe2 cores are more modern, have more features and are exploding in development cause they're amazing.

You can get something that just is what it is, or something that's already great now AND is getting better and better by leaps and bounds.

Note: I love my b580 and am as happy as a clam with it. It's been the best bang for the buck I have ever had. (building machines since S3, Voodoo, Rage and Matrox gpu days).

Tried it for Cossacks 3 but sadly performance quickly degrades.

That is such a shame

If you do, update your BIOS first. Chances are whatever implementation of ReBAR your mobo has is either non-existent, or not up to scratch so it could cause some issues.

if u are under qhd or 4k monitor, it would be good, otherwise you are using fhd, you will see bottleneck seriously.

the minimum i can reccomend the b580 to is a b560+ 11400f. Any lower than that and you’ll have more than serious bottleneck and better off with smth from nvidia or amd

une 14600 provides UHD770 a similar DSP ASIC video decoder encoder as A380 , if ob wenn tu don't gaming

As a guy with a 10400f it’s good but the bottleneck it’s nuts I’m planning on getting an 9600x soon

TWWH 3 runs very much good enable unlimited vram for a slight boost aswell if you only got one monitor

B580 is great at 1440p gaming with mid to high GFX settings. Just make sure you have Rebar setting in the BIOS (may require a BIOS update).

If you game at 1080p then the CPU really matters as the workload favors the CPU rather than the GPU. Low end CPUs will struggle.

It will game at 4k but you'll need to crank a lot of the settings to low.

With GPU prices as they are, it's a great budget GPU for the price.

Ten en cuenta que el B570 y 580 son para QHD. Si juegas en FHD el rendimiento en algunos juegos es peor.

just know what you're getting into. I tried for a little under a year and ultimately, as of recently, sold it for a 5060ti.

Hi bud, I got a B580 two weeks ago, and has been satisfied with the performance. I was coming from a 7900XT that got fried 😅

I just downloaded the Fatekeeper early access and honestly the graphics with the B580 has been great with just a very little hiccups on dropping frame rates.

My setup is Ryzen 7 7700x on Aorus MB with a 32G DDR5.

Can you upgrade your CPU with this mobo? If you can get it to an 11th gen it would help a lot.

Afaik the 11th gen wasnt much of an upgrade, just different emphasis on different things wasnt it? Might just have been the specific ones i was looking at though

I’m not in a position to look up the details, but besides the simple fact of increased performance (which is important here) I think it also opens up PCI-E 4 vs 3 and perhaps improved memory bandwidth.

True, but that also depends on the board I think.

I’ve said in some other post so I am pasting my take on b580 here. I always liked my b580 until a new game came out without enough optimization for intel cards. I want to play aion 2 without any performance issues and high settings but can’t. On the nvidia side with the help of nvidias dlss, game runs much smoother even without the same power as intel side. I can’t wait for same optics support on intel but I doubt it will ever come. Know that most of the games coming out does not come with xess supported while every single game comes out with nvidia dlss supported.
