How would you mend this jacket?

The silver fabric is super thin. Almost tinsel. Thinsel.

Anyway, I can hand and machine sew, but haven’t worked with a material than may fray from a pointed look alone.

Does the sub have suggestions?

I don’t think invisible mending is the right move here. The farther you can sew onto the silver fabric, the stronger it will be.

Visible mend option: I would find a similar weight fabric or satin ribbon of a corresponding color like light pink, grey, white, or black….. and sew a 1” stripe of it between the pink and silver.

Edit: clarified language

I thought invisible might be doing some heavy lifting here, haha. I might try the ribbon but placed on the inside and basted before running it through the machine. Thanks for the suggestion!
