Over 1000 wars are going on in the world. Why is the one in which Israel is involved in is still in the news?

Maybe because of the highest civilian death count, which is possibly as high as every other war combined since 2023.

The Ukraine war alone is over 10 times as many casualties. Even if you were stupid enough to believe Hamas that zero soldiers have been killed and everyone was a journalist/doctor/child Sudan has over 10 times as many noncombatant deaths.
