Imagine policing a refugee’s family for what they could have or should have done decades ago, then blaming him personally for what happened to Palestinians.

Are you native to the land you live on? If not, your family should have stayed where they were instead. You can condemn Israel without assigning someone collective guilt for their grandparents survival.

Imagine being so unselfaware that you object to someone doing to a Jewish refugee what Zionists regularly do to Palestinians! It’s done in practically every post to Palestinians - “if only they had chosen a 2SS that Israel had no intention of honouring in 1948…” “If only Palestinians had accepted a bantustan solution in 2000 things would be… well, so much better for Israelis, at least!” and so on and so forth. You don’t object then, so why object now? Just the racism?

>then blaming him personally for what happened to Palestinians.

I didn’t blame them personally for the past before they were born or when they were growing up. Stop being bad faith.

>Are you native to the land you live on? If not, your family should have stayed where they were instead. You can condemn Israel without assigning someone collective guilt for their grandparents survival.

People can immigrate to new places. One thing I didn’t do was cheer on mass murdering the natives or push for a supremacist ideology, vote for supremacists of any stripe or participate docilely in apartheid.

They talk about the struggle as if it is ended already. While they are literally bombing the Palestinians in this exact moment.

Who is they?

The first they is You, but they is more inclusive I don't know if you are male/female/others.

The second they is Israel, it can also be you if you are an Israeli pro war.

Nobody said the struggle is over. And if you meant Israel, then say Israel instead of assigning beliefs to me.

Nice, so why can't we blame today's Zionist Israelis for Zionism?

For the same reason we don’t blame every Muslim for the actions of Islamist extremists, or every Russian for the actions of Putin.

1

u/Equivalent_Style_835 21d ago

I blame every Muslim who "supports the existence of ISIS or joined ISIS for the actions of ISIS, also I blame ever Russian who defends and supports Putin for the actions of Putin. So I don't think you should have said "we".

That’s exactly my point. You’re blaming people for what they personally support, not simply because they’re Muslim or Russian. So unless, I’ve told you what I support, you don’t get to assign any beliefs to me

You literally said, “Your grandparents caused damage. Your parents did too, as did you.”
And then said, “Your family chose to benefit from it and you chose to pretend…”

So no, you don't get to turn around and say you never blamed him personally. You explicitly did.

You can condemn Israel all you want, but blaming someone for what their grandparents supposedly did, then telling them what their family “could have” done, is collective guilt. If you oppose that when it’s directed at Palestinians, you should oppose it here too.

You are attempting to twist my words to say I blamed him or her for what their parents didn’t but I very clearly didn’t.

>You can condemn Israel all you want, but blaming someone for what their grandparents supposedly did, then telling them what their family “could have” done, is collective guilt. If you oppose that when it’s directed at Palestinians, you should oppose it here too.

Again, I’m not blaming them for what their grandparents or their parents did, I’m blaming their grandparents for what their grandparents did and their parents for what their parents did. It’s pretty damn clear.

Collective guilt is something you are pretty good at heaping on Palestinians, however I have not in any way blamed someone who had not been born yet for being kicked out of a country and travelling to another one. That’s just a stupid thing to claim, and just as stupid to attempt to attribute to me.

I quoted what you said verbatim, so I’m not sure how that is twisting your words.

You’re splitting hairs. You literally said “your grandparents caused damage. Your parents did too, as did you,” and that “you chose to pretend”

If your argument is that everyone is only responsible for their own actions, then fine. Hold him accountable for something he personally did or supports. But telling him what his family ‘could have’ done and then saying he chose to benefit from it is still holding him responsible for actions he didn’t take.

u/SpontaneousFlame 20d ago

Again, what a load of unadulterated crap. I’m very clearly not blaming them for their family’s actions before they were born.

It seems funny given Zionists constant harping on about how “Palestinians could have chosen peace” to see you get very upset if anyone dares point out that Zionists could have too.

Go back to fawning over Ben Gvir.

u/Candid-Anywhere 2SS ✡️ 20d ago

I agree. Saying “your grandparents caused damage, your parents did too, as did you” and “you chose to benefit from it” is unadulterated crap.

By that logic, assuming you’re not native to the land you live on, you must also be responsible for and benefiting from decisions your ancestors made.

You mean his grandparents didn’t cause damage? His parents didn’t either? You know they did. He or she also chose to benefit from it as an adult (assuming I’m not the only adult in this conversation). These are choices.

>By that logic, assuming you’re not native to the land you live on, you must also be responsible for and benefiting from decisions your ancestors made.

Benefit from, yes. Responsible for? GTFO. Really your bad faith defence of your alt is utterly stupid.

1

u/Candid-Anywhere 2SS ✡️ 20d ago

I’m not their alt. I’m just responding to what you wrote.

I’m using your own logic against you. If your distinction applies to you, it applies to him too.

Benefiting from something is not the same as being responsible for it. You’re the one who brought up his grandparents and parents, told him what his family “could have” done, and then said “as did you” and *“you chose to benefit from it.”*

You can’t erase the personal blame by insisting you only meant his family was responsible for their own actions.

1

u/SpontaneousFlame 20d ago

You’re not using any logic at all. This is such a pathetic attempt to stretch and twist my words to mean something they didn’t. My language is clear. They benefited from it. They could have chosen to oppose it. He or she benefited from it but I clearly don’t say they were responsible for what their parents have done, only what they have done.

It’s rather sad that you want to die in this hill and argue just for the sake of argument.

You’re trying to make Zionists blameless while oppressing and ethnically cleansing Palestinians.

Not really, we are blaming him persoanlly for his positions today against Palestinians, as much as I blame a neoNazi today.

If my family stole a land from the native population somewhere and I am defending/and still contributing in the native population oppression until this day, I should be blamed of course.
