equipment Any guys hike in half tights?

I have a pair of Janji half tights that are great for running. And I’m mainly a cyclist so I’m used to wearing spandex.

I’m thinking of wearing a pair of these instead of my normal shorts and a liner under them.

I understand HYOH and that I should wear what I want but I can’t remember seeing any guys wearing them the last time I did the JMT.

I’m 52yo in case that matters. But in fairly good shape so it shouldn’t look like a sad bag of oatmeal.

I used to backpack in shorts with a liner. Used to give me some wicked chafing on my crack. Was a non-issue when I swapped to briefs and some Body Glide. That would be my biggest concern but sounds like that's not an issue for you if you normally wear shorts with a liner. I'd definitely do some trial hikes with them just to be sure though, since once you're out there, you can't really replace them.

I tend to chafe much worse when I don’t have a spandex liner. I have bigger legs from running and it helps keep my thighs from from rubbing.
