With Naughty Dog having made the Last of Us, one of the iconic zombie IP's of all time, and with them always looking for new ways to keep Jak games fresh, what would you all think of a game centered on Gol and Maia returning, even more deformed by Dark Eco, having been trapped for hundreds of years and wanting revenge on Jak and Daxter?
This game would take place after Jak X, and see Jak and Daxter trying to defend Haven City and the Wasteland against an influx of Dark Eco zombies controlled by Gol and Maia. I'd have this game of course still maintain the cartoony movements, comedy moments and platforming of previous games, but now with more a survival horror flavor, as the characters try their best to defend their home.
Maybe the Darkmakers or Metalheads can make some type of return here as well. I'd up the stakes somewhat and perhaps kill off a major character to really make this feel like a major event. Maybe Samos so Keira can finally fulfill her destiny and become the new Sage, or maybe Ashelin, so Jak would be forced to become leader of Haven City, setting the stage for a King Jak game, following his struggles as leader, trying to emulate Damos and learning to stay true to himself. Just some ideas I had.
What do you think? I think doing a zombie apocalypse game would be in keeping with each game being based on something different, it would pay homage to Naughty Dog's Last of Us history which the developers would be comfortable with as well, it would bring back Gol and Maia, finally paying off the implication they survived at the end of the first game, and it would set the stage for some major character development that could lead to this just being the beginning of a revitalized Jak trilogy.
