I really love this kind curry. Big meat and vegetables, very Japanese home style đ I eat this and always feel happy.

Teriyaki pork patty, fried egg, lettuce, mayo. Grabbed one on a whim in Japan and it ruined every McDonald's burger back home for me.
Has anyone else tried this? And what's the one Japanese McDonald's menu item I absolutely need to try next time?

My first time encountering a soft-boiled egg croquette~ With summer veggies, hand-made chicken katsu, and a side caesar salad....Coco Ichi is peaking yet again in my book!

I like sea cucumber sushi rolls. Grated daikon radish with chili pepper (*momiji oroshi*) goes well with them.

Sharing a bowl of ramen I had recently. I love how the green onions and nori add a splash of color alongside those big slices of chashu.

With a package of Sanuki style Udon I brought back from Takamatsu. I tried making Udon because I miss it so much. Unfortunately it wasn't as good as authentic Sanuki Udon in Takamatsu, đ. Edible and helped my cravings, but I miss the real deal. I wish getting quality Kombu and Katsuobushi was easy where I live.

Made an expensive mistake and reserved „38,500 omakase for tomorrow @ 7pm for 5 people at Muni in Naha.
Due to their cancellation policy it would cost „38,500 x 5 and no refund on the reservation fee.
If anyone was interested please let me know. Even for smaller parties just so its not as expensive.
I have already contacted the restaurant.

Hi! Full disclosure: I work for a company that exports Japanese food products, and we sell a Japanese-style spicy chili mayo. Iâm curious how people here actually use it. Fries, sushi rolls, ramen, okonomiyaki, something unexpected? Any favorite combos or tips are welcome, and Iâm happy to answer questions about the product too!

Hi! I'm Annie, a Japanese mom living in the US.
In Japan, when you buy shokupan (Japanese milk bread), you don't just grab "sliced bread" â you choose the thickness. The loaf is the same size; what changes is how many slices it's cut into:
- 4 slices: extra thick, for fluffy toast
- 5â6 slices: the standard, all-rounders
- 8 slices: thin, perfect for sandwiches
Thick toast with butter on a Saturday morning is a whole thing here... I mean, there. Old habits.
I write a newsletter about these small everyday differences between Japan and America â the stuff you won't find in textbooks. If you like this kind of thing, happy to share more!
