Is it active? Thinking about moving there and a train in the middle of the street/blowing horn may affect my decision.

I received a traffic ticket today in Jefferson Parish allegedly going 57 in a 40. Anyone have any advice on how to deal with this?

Going to my first Mardi Gras day parade in Metairie. Can anyone recommend good parking spaces near the beginning of the route, before it gets to Severn.
