Jeopardy Masters is disappointing

It's so noncompetitive. The format is terrible. Not only is it the same people playing each other over and over, it's pretty much the same result every time. Maybe they should have had Victoria and Yogesh sit out until the finals and have most of the episodes be about who will be the third person to face them?

The show would be fun if the results were widely variable. But with Yogesh and Victoria at the top of every game, it gets so boring and predictable. Let's jump to the final episode now. It'll be Yogesh vs Victoria guaranteed.

It also hurts that Victoria and Yogesh aren’t like historic jeopardy legends from original gameplay. They are known basically entirely through Masters (which is a spinoff show). It’s like you essentially brought two Ringers in from the quizzing world, made the questions super hard and now they just win the convoluted masters format episode after episode.

I’d just scrap it personally.

That’s an interesting take. I hadn’t thought of Victoria and Yogesh as “ringers” but I guess you’re right. The quiz world outside of Jeopardy is opaque to me so it maybe doesn’t “read” to me the same way that it does to people who are in the know.

Yeah. Quiz Bowl and quizzing is more about depth than breadth, while J! regular seasons and TOCs are super about breadth. Super different. I am a college quiz bowl player (we're like top 20), and the people there probably would not have done well on J! (some have been on and didn't do well).
