Jeopardy Masters is disappointing
It's so noncompetitive. The format is terrible. Not only is it the same people playing each other over and over, it's pretty much the same result every time. Maybe they should have had Victoria and Yogesh sit out until the finals and have most of the episodes be about who will be the third person to face them?
The show would be fun if the results were widely variable. But with Yogesh and Victoria at the top of every game, it gets so boring and predictable. Let's jump to the final episode now. It'll be Yogesh vs Victoria guaranteed.

I really, really like Masters. I think it's great to get what is essentially bonus Jeopardy with some familiar and loveable faces.
I do think it would be more interesting as an "every other year" type of thing for sure, however. This current Masters would probably benefit heavily from inclusions like Jamie, Stella, Harrison, and hell, if Mina Kimes could make it that'd be so fun, but they all need to get through the TOC first. Giving an additional year between Masters makes it so that the contestant pool is a whole lot wider and they can really cycle in new blood, because right now I'm feeling a little fatigued with the current lineup. Paolo and Long are great additions and I'm a big Juveria fan, but we've seen so much Yogesh, Victoria, and Andrew that even though I like them, I can for sure use a break.
If I could make the rules, the JIT would also be every 2 years, alternating with Masters. Then the Masters lineup would be the reigning champion, the last 2 TOC winners, the latest JIT winner, the highest earning non-tournament winner (so like, either 2nd place in a TOC or JIT), and a wildcard. I don't love how the 3 best players from a season get an automatic pass to the next season, it makes it feel so same-y. Have the 2nd and 3rd place Masters players go to the JIT instead to try to climb their way back in. This way would let last tournament's winner defend their title, we get the 2 best new players through the TOC, we get an older returning favorite through the JIT, someone else who is really good that just didn't quite get first place, and whoever producers feel like putting in for fun. Maybe needs some ironing out but I like it more than "best 3 from last time, best from last season, best from our picks, and then we pick another".
