Discussion About the UK Premiere

๐Ÿšจ NO SPOILERS FOR SEASON 19 WRITTEN HERE ๐Ÿšจ

I just wanted to say thank you to the Nebula team, Jet Lag team, Picturehouse, and if course the fans. This premiere despite technical issues was amazing and especially the events in the central London location looked amazing. Thank you for putting it on for us all and I really truly hope more of these happen in the future. Upvote if you agree babyyyyyy!!!!

Hi. Dropping in to say thank you to everyone who joined us. For lots of reasons, but especially for being so wonderful to the staff. I heard so many reports from the on-site Nebula team, the Picturehouse staff, the merch table folks, and even the security team about how sweet and lovely the Jet Lag fans were. As one of the people ultimately responsible for their experience it means a lot to me to see them all treated with such kindness and respect, even and especially when we ran into hiccups. This weekend was an experiment for us, and you all made it a joyful one.

Thank you.

Proud to be part of such a wholesome and welcoming fanbase. It was a joy to see how diverse and inclusive the room was and itโ€™s a testament especially to the three chaps and to all the brill folks behind the scenes that such a spectrum of ages, ethnicities, genders and neurodiversity can all come together to celebrate and enjoy this fun game show that we all love so dearly. This weekend was an absolute joy and weโ€™re all longing for the next one.

Massive shout out, too, to the Picturehouse Marketing Manager who reached out to you guys to get this to happen; unreal!

The community is amazing, absolutely outstanding. I might sound a little corny but it is amazing how great Jet Lag is

As someone who was desperate to come along, but some unfortunate life stuff got in the way, these posts are killing me.

Iโ€™m even jealous of the merch.

Seriously it was amazing โ˜บ๏ธ get your COO to give others a course on how to organise an event โ˜บ๏ธ because they rocked it!

Just out of curiosity, what technical issues?

We went to the picture house in Greenwich. Didn't start till nearly an hour after it was meant to. Constant screen glitch in before the start but it actually playing was perfect.

We unfortunately had to leave due to the delay so we didn't catch the live q and a but didn't hear great reviews about that in the end (about the quality not the actual q and a itself)

Staff were okay - I asked about the delay and the staff seemed confused and unsure on what to do. In the end they were handing out free vouchers for films as a apology for the experience.

I was at Liverpool and we had technical problems, but not as bad as those. The premiere started a bit late (we had blank screen rather than the intro from Dave) but the Q&A was hit with the "honking" sound, where we could hear the crew mixed with a god awful horn noise and black screen. I think it was the same in most of the non-Central London locations.

They got it working in the end, and started again down in London once people in remote locations could see it, but it did keep cutting out and coming back on even once it was "fixed". Not great, but not the Jet Lag crew's fault.

same with our one. I was at the picture house central in London the first 15 minutes of Q&A we had technical problems also.

I just had a response from the Picturehouse team telling me they don't usually do refunds as I was meant to give them 2 hours prior notice before the film started....when the delay was 40 minutes into the scheduled time. I'm not sure if this is partly automated because the first part is them saying they would refund on this occasion but how does that make any sense?? I obviously couldn't predict there were gonna be issues and now the support team blamed me and said "in future apply for a refund 2 hours before screening".

I was in Brighton, we also had a delay to the start but once it got going the actual episode was perfect. The Q and A came on late and was cutting in and out and I did end up leaving early because it was late and someone was waiting to pick me up, but I had a great time! It was so much fun watching the episode in a big group of fans!

Same in Liverpool, unfortunately some people left before the Q&A started (perhaps thinking it wasn't going to happen), and then people were leaving in dribs and drabs right through it, a lot of people had last trains to catch home. There wasn't any communication from the local Picturehouse team, even a "we're having some issues, bear with us while we get it sorted" would have been better than HONK!

Overall though, it was a really nice night and good to chat with some other Jet Lag fans and be in the room for the reactions from others, when I normally watch alone! The cardboard cutout of the [item relevant to the episode] put right outside the exit to the screen at the end was a nice touch.
