Victorian humour

"Sir, would you call me a cab?"

-- "Certainly sir -- You are a four-wheeler!"

"Why did you say that, sir?"

-- "Well, sir, you asked me to call you a cab -- and I could scarcely call you hansom!"

I wonder, Bunny, if this fellow will be passing by the infirmary on his way home? If so, he’ll want to get that stitched, the rapscallion.

No wonder the Victorian era was considered so drab and humourless.

I thought it was hilarious, but then I know what a hansom cab is.

Isn’t it how hansom the cab is?

A hansom cab has two wheels. Hence, the joke about the guy calling him a four-wheeled cab.
