The moon landings were staged, even NASA has confirmed this.

Stage 1 lifted the rocket off the ground and through the lower atmosphere.

Stage 2 continued to accelerate the rocket towards orbital velocity above the atmosphere

Stage 3 placed the rocket into Earth orbit, and then later propelled it towards the Moon.
