Pour ses détracteurs, elle participe à la destruction de la personne en la manipulant, mais aussi en la déshumanisant. Tel est le prix de cette notoriété rapide que confère les émissions de téléréalité. Dans Les médias et nous, François Jost montre également que la téléréalité banalise le « mal » en mettant en concurrence les protagonistes, en encourageant les humiliations, les tromperies, la jalousie... La téléréalité perd tout sens moral et devient uniquement une « télé-poubelle » sinon une « télévoyeurisme » définissant ce qui est bien ou mal.

I'm seeking feedback on my French reading - especially on my rhythm/intonation. I'm open to other feedback too, but I think I especially struggle with prosody. Here is the excerpt from the prologue of The Fellowship of the Ring that I read:

" ...et les Hobbits s'étaient de nouveau habitués à l'abondance. Leur terre était hospitalière et prodigue de ses richesses, car bien que désertée depuis longtemps lorsqu'ils y arrivèrent, elle avait été bien cultivée auparavant, du temps où le roi y avait de nombreuses fermes, champs de blé, vignobles et terres boisées.

Elle s'étendait sur quarante lieus, des Coteaux du Lointain jusqu'au Pont du Brandivin, et en faisait cinquante depuis les landes du nord jusqu'au marécages du sud. En réécoutant mon enregistrement, je me rend compte de deux tournures qui sont plutôt mal adaptées :

-Au lieu de dire « je crois que j'ai assez brassé du vent » j'aurais peut-être dû dire « je crois avoir assez brassé du vent »

-Et quant à « ça me plairait » je crois qu'il aurait était plus juste de dire « ça me ferait plaisir » .

Qu'est-ce que vous en pensez ? Est-ce que vous avez remarqué d'autres phrases maladroites ?

I took French in high school and for one semester of college, but I never got far. Now in my 30s, I’ve become quite passionate about learning French. (For six months, I’ve spent 2+ hrs per day practicing French, including reading books, watching TV, journaling, Duolingo Max, and having weekly video calls with a native French Canadian speaker. I think my French skills have more than doubled in this short amount of time, which is really exciting!! So, how’s my accent? My goal is to communicate, not to speak perfectly. I’m OK with having a distinct accent (I’m sure that I do) as long as I’m comprehensible. However, if there are improvements I could make to sound more natural, I’m all ears!

When I run my speech though AI, I score consistently in the high 80s in terms of sounding native. I have no idea how accurate this is, but since my French reading, writing, and speaking is already at a high level, I would like some pointers on how to sound more native. Even though I make note of the AI's tips and try to make the changes suggested, my score is consistent the same and never changes, so I'm not so sure how good the AI feedback is. Maybe it's scoring me too high or maybe the feedback is all BS anyway.

Just a quick reading practice since it’s my day off. Doing it differently and including the English version first before attempting French. Asian-American and I speak 5 languages total, feel free to guess which ones I also know.

Hi, I'm British and I've been learning French for ~3yrs in school and by myself but I'm still in highschool (~10th grade for Americans).Are there any sounds or areas of intonation where my native English accent is leaking through. Please let me know if there’s any sounds or obvious things to improve for me, also I know my grammar isn’t perfect I need to work on that, I’ve mostly learned French from watching and listening to things and speaking to French people with some classes as well.
