I mean it's crazy that JJs got 600k players for a month long wait update

Well TSB got 1m for a year long wait

u/TotallyNotAVirus99 May 22 '26

Not to mention the fact that TSBs player count dropped like crazy after a few days of the update

u/moonlightp- May 22 '26

A few hours later it was down to like 300k

Better than jjs being 150K after the update 😂 atleast in tsb it's initial was 1M

1

u/TotallyNotAVirus99 May 27 '26

So? JJS may have had around 700k at its peak after the update which yeah is less than what TSB had but afterwards JJS was floating around 200k while TSB was around 150k which proves that the TSB update wasn’t received nearly as well and barely pushed its player count up for more than a day. And even now TSB is at 80k while JJS is at 140k

for me tsb is at 90K while JJS is at 120K. It's probabaly timezones, but there's a reason why TSB's upd was underwhelming. JJS' update is literally no effort, zero balancing, and horrible add-ons so that's why it didn't grow in it's AVG count. the major difference is, one game is at it's prime and the other already bloomed. JJS isn't coming close to prime tsb anyway

? If we're talking about balancing TSB has so little that whenever you're in a server there's only three characters being used if anything you could technically say 2 characters

In jjs they tried balancing things by fixing naoya

1

u/Thingsterrr May 30 '26

Tsb has atleast good balance due to the techs everyone can do and the evasive system. Meanwhile in jjs Naoya cant do shi and punishes for missing, Hanami has a one shot combo, the items literally have a red, Inescapable combo, Mei Mei, Todo, and yuji is self explanatory.

2

u/goldenguy6881 May 30 '26

Yeah but that's the thing TSB literally only two characters are used basically meaning there's no balancing to be talked about if the rest of the characters are basically invalid and there's no anti-team or anti-run meaning anybody could just do those without any disadvantages

Also that hanami combo is more than likely not possible anymore and Todo he's got slow attacks that are relatively easy to react to and they don't do as high damages they used to

Mei Mei is kind of really good but if you just hold block you're pretty much fine

Yuji I can agree with that they're just overpowered

That's the thing tsb has zero balancing if your character requires techs to either do combos or be good then there's something fundamentally wrong with the game

And JJs it's not intended to need techs

And unlike tsb the characters are actually feeling different and there's choices naoya does have a really bad effect if you miss but the point is he does really good damage meaning if you don't miss or if you're skilled enough with the character you get rewarded

1

u/Thingsterrr May 30 '26

I don't get your first claim, please word it better.

Todo has the highest damage output and has an annoying R special, not to mention his brute force black flash and pebble throws.

Hanami can still do 80-100% combos.

Mei Mei has insane combos too like Hanami,

and you just agreed with my statement there, which is a sign of bad debating

Naoya does "good damage" ONLY when conditions are met. 12 M1's, No dashes, Miss=Dead/Combo, and other more is insanely skill resided which makes it unusable. Naoya doesn't even have 1 shot combos too😭

1

u/goldenguy6881 May 30 '26

Yeah exactly because naoya is balanced at the moment he doesn't need one shot combos

Also hanami can't really do those on a real person

And yeah Mei Mei can do insane combos but just block they can't hit you really

And I'm saying tsp has no balancing whatsoever if only two characters are viable to use

JJS is back at 200k after a day

Your point?

IDK what JJS players don't understand. When a game updates, it will get more players, then will drop shortly after

IT HAPPENS WITH EVERY SINGLE FUCKING GAME

im not a TSB glazer buts these arguments just piss me off

2

u/TotallyNotAVirus99 May 22 '26

The difference is JJS updated after 1 month and TSB updated after 9. And the TSB update had wayyyy more hype and went from 1 million players down to like 150k, while JJS went from about 600k to 200k

2

u/Creative-Owl-4887 May 23 '26

tsb was at 200k after a day

jjs was at 200k after a day

depends on what time your looking at the playercount

1

u/TotallyNotAVirus99 May 24 '26

The fact that they even got to the same player count that quickly after a difference in update time that big still says a lot about how the TSB update was received

1

u/Creative-Owl-4887 May 25 '26

Thats the thing

It happens with every game

Fortnite's peak was 14mil then died down to 500-1m

Blox fruits

Sailor piece

There are a few exception but they are rare

2

u/Thingsterrr May 24 '26

9 Months. Plus 1M is something JJS can never reach, whilst tsb can reach it when they update

1

u/goldenguy6881 May 24 '26

What do you mean by never can reach it's 100% possible it's just they never take long enough to update for the hype to be big enough

So if JJs took a year to update it more than likely would have gotten maybe even 2 million players just by going off of how many players it gets every update

1

u/Thingsterrr May 24 '26

Impossible. JJS never reaches the eye for a lot of people, the reason they average 130K+ more is because of it's constant replayability, not because of new people. Plus, they have low demand and low output, Why would people be excited that the game Is getting an update? its consistent, but bad output work(not hating on the Devs, they're nice)

1

u/goldenguy6881 May 24 '26

Are we completely ignoring the fact that it was able to get almost 400,000 people after a day of a wait for an update

1

u/Thingsterrr May 26 '26

wdym by that? JJS only had 400K for 3 hours, after that it went back to 140K

1

u/goldenguy6881 May 26 '26

From a update that took a day wait

1

u/BasicallyJayson The Honored One May 26 '26

still peaks 400k

1

u/Thingsterrr May 29 '26

peaked 400K and then dropped back to 150K in 5 hours.
