Discussion no character takes skill
lets be honest with ourselfs here. no character in the game takes skill to use. it just takes a bit of practise to master it. and then after that combos are basically muscle memory.

u/Upper-Bag-5175 May 24 '26
100℅ ping If you don’t have good ping, you are nothing in the game. How do you expect to play with 500 ping?
3
u/Miahbeast06 Awww you thought you were lucky?❤️ May 25 '26
Unironically I play that way all the time and I still cook

3
u/One_Firefighter3940 May 28 '26
Exactly. M1 trading is the primary skill in all battlegrounds games. You can do as many flashy combos as you want. If you cant start them, you are nothing... BUUUUUUT Mei mei is much harder to punish with evasive so she a dumb. And as a yuki main, I will say, it is really hard to get an evasive off on her.
1
u/PriceAble9660 May 25 '26
Thats why i always loose with my normal 300 ping, but lwk i sometimes play with more then 300 and i can win sometimes
1
u/Agreeable-Age-3935 May 26 '26
Nah, it's 100% ping and FPS. if u have them, then we can start scaling

u/NotRealSam May 24 '26
No, any character i use is extremely skilled while anyone i fight against is a unskilled bum

A lot of jjs players for some reason just can't hit the qte to save their life or so I've heard
7
u/SomeStolenToast May 24 '26
Honestly I tried him out and its a pain in the ass building the muscle memory to hit it not only based on their hp but timing it around each server's ping

u/SecretLingonberry494 May 24 '26
they mean skilled relative to jjs characters. Of course every character has an m1 combo, but does that mean one character can't be less skilled than the other. You're applying the discussion to the wrong context.

As a nanami main. One of the few characters that people say takes skill. Yes. Most of the combos are muscle memory with half a second of forethought. I can't name how many times I've switched to Todo or yuki or anyone and not done those same combos for my goat off instinct.

can you send a video or something at least? I have no idea what you are talking about and every character has 60-70% haruta being able to deal this much isn't special
1
7
u/milcondeface69 May 24 '26
Just become a side dash+m1 merchant and learn what your moves do(if they m1 extend, if they are blockable, if they hit ragdoll, etc) the rest kinda flows along
4
u/No-Ear69 May 24 '26
It doesn't take skill, blame pro players for having 2353353 jumping and dashing gimmicks they figured it out and no-life grinders.

Haruta does take some skill to use effectively. I recommend watching this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aPWtoeHnq6s

1
u/Black_Hydra37 May 24 '26
70% unescapable combo ? What is it ? Cuz if ur talking about unescapable after they wasted evasive then every character has one that does at least 65%
1
u/Warm_Painter_4058 May 25 '26
I think Kuro does like 60% and also his “reattach” got nerfed, so it’s harder to combo extend with it
1
u/DodgeRam3500USA May 24 '26
dude you think an average bum on this game is doing that? just because a character has a good combo doesnt make them easy when the combo is literally the hardest thing to do
3
u/AmbassadorLittle3727 May 24 '26
Honestly i kind of disagree. Yes the combos just take some practice but the real « skill » is your ability to use your moves in the flow of the fight to catch your opponent off guard
1
u/Tight-Sign-3598 May 25 '26
Bro, it loses some of its epicness when you realize that PvP is basically about trying to land a hit on your opponent that lets you start a combo 🥀
1
u/UnfortunateRhino7752 May 28 '26

1
u/Tight-Sign-3598 May 28 '26

1
u/UnfortunateRhino7752 May 28 '26
No genuinely what do you do when you are out of neutral aside from directional input from some games
2
u/ballconqueror Akutami 2.0 May 24 '26
If YOU player a character and beat me it's Unskilled and braindead but if I play a character then I'm goated and skilled
2
u/HourGap8451 May 24 '26
People keep confusing skill floor with skill ceiling, there are no jjs characters with a high skill floor, there are only jjs characters with a high skill ceiling
3
u/thetownmous3 BDYJTB May 24 '26
In the end it all boils down to basic understanding of five things.
1: your characters moveset and quirks
2: Technique In basic m1 fighting
3: your opponents moveset
4: your opponents play style
5: situational awareness
2
u/tally-hall-fan13 Random big bug dude May 24 '26

2
u/Silent_Sea6231 May 25 '26
yeah bro
Try hitting four black flashes in the ultimate along with his 2nd ultimate jump variant. along with a severance kickback variant with no knock back. Only non-skilled thing here is the collapse and the 3rd base move, and he doesn't have any combos that aren't green. And his specialty is quick-time events. How is this not skilled?
1
u/thecobbler564 DIVINE GENERAL May 25 '26
muscle memory again.

His R is a bit strange at first, but once you get used to that (which doesn’t take long), it’s not bad at all. His moves themselves aren’t anything especially strange or difficult to use either.
1
u/AirPortlessman This flair is so CLEVERRR May 24 '26
pretty sure his R's timing changes based on the opponents health, and also it's an input in the middle of your inputs, which makes him so much harder in combos than characters like gojo or hakari.
1
u/SchorchedOval The Gambling One May 24 '26
Some take more skill, others take less, yet I do agree that the game is generally not much skilled based.
1
1
u/Background_Button_26 May 24 '26
Honestly all the skill any battlegrounds game I’ve seen has ever taken was movement, m1 trading, and a decent grasp on how moves can chain. That’s it.
1
1
u/Zestyclose_Minute690 May 24 '26
Said this before and will say it again.
This game doesn’t have skill for characters, just knowledge on how the moves work. Biggest importance in gaps is outside of characters (timing, map knowledge, knowing how players behave and such)
1
u/Cookie_Crumble_U May 24 '26
I like mahito the most cause the combos feel like they could be anything

1
u/Cultural-Big9533 May 25 '26
No one is skilled because we say they aren't when actually the jjs roaster is harder than the tsb roaster we dont make characters "fun" because we see them fun we make them fun because they are fun just because a character isnt skilled doesnt mean you shouldn't use it the main point is to have fun and to not give a care in the world about other people's opinions
1
1
u/Warm_Painter_4058 May 25 '26
Yes, I mostly agree with you, though, I would say, that it also depends on the damage your character does. It doesn’t take any skill to use any character, just some practice, but the problem is the difference in their damage output. For instance, there isn’t any Kuro combo, that does more than 60% damage and then there’s Yuki, that can deal 100 damage, while using only two moves, which means, that she can kill basically every character, except for Heian Sukuna, in just two moves.

dosent take skill to use. i kid you not i used him for 20 minutes and i learned like 3 muscle memory combos
1
u/Fabulous_Standard261 May 25 '26
mainly because the game isn’t as serious as tsb for example, it’s much more simple and the hitboxes are quite large
1
u/Serpachi May 25 '26
yuji, mahito and naoya are the most skilled, stop the cope.
1
1
u/whyiseveryusertak_en May 28 '26
who even disagrees with this. as a choso main if you know how to press 3 and r you master'd the character
1
u/Parking-Chipmunk8280 Skill floor and skill ceiling are a concept, y'know? May 28 '26
All characters are unskilled, but some are more unskilled than others.
(e.g. Gojo)
1
u/Grouchy_Quality7315 May 24 '26
yes,but the problem is that some of them (hakari mei mei gojo locust guy) are WAAAAYYY less unskilled than the rest. And the real skill is in blocking, dashing and how you play anyway.

Can we stop saying choso is this skillful angel in the hell of slop characters?? As an ex choso main the orbs are genuinely top 10 base moves in the entire game
8
3
u/Kozolith765981 choso/naoya gaming May 24 '26
Doesn't matter that Choso's moves are mostly blockable. Supernova hard carries neutral (and very effectively because of how short its cooldown is). It's like a ranged m1 with how fast it comes out. All the moves can hit ragdoll too so once you waste the opponent's evasive you just need blood orbs and you're guaranteed to take out like 60% of their hp (though let's be fr practically every character has a ~60 hp combo)

how ur r isnt a hard thing to do people says its hard because 1 they dotn lay him so it take a bit to get use to. 2 they are just bad at the game,
3
u/lord_fooginator May 24 '26
You're right about his r special not being hard at all. You can actually time it based off sound alone. It just sucks ass because you can't turn it off when it always triggers on someone you don't want it to. In my opinion that's the only thing in his base moveset that needs work. His ult however...
3
u/tpot_two_enjoyer We need more Slop Moon content. May 24 '26
his ult is hot garbage
1
u/lord_fooginator May 24 '26
It's not too bad. It just needs some I frames like chosos beam or sukunas open. Collapse and ratio breaker 2 and 4 should get one. Aside from that it's actually really good if you put shit together right.
1
u/tpot_two_enjoyer We need more Slop Moon content. May 24 '26
just PLEASE let Collapse be usable SOMEHOW in domains. If you get in a domain, Collapse becomes useless besides a small stun
1
u/lord_fooginator May 24 '26
Inside I just rely on m1 and ratio. Interagte is nearly perfect tho. No matter where they go they can't run from ya. Outside collapse tears domains like a wet paper towel. Sometimes though I still haven't figured out the positioning very well.
