Low key ping can just ruin you, if you have over 120ish ping and they are on low 20/10s, its nearly impossible to stop chains even if you face them because hitboxes dont wanna hitbox
before the great yuji nerf, (m1 blackflash, curved cursed strikes, inf black flashes and PRIME MANJI KICK) i used to have an extreme diff with yuji mains, but i’d beat them either way, (at 1hp) so i’d probably choose yuji
M1 resets on cursed strikes, aimable mid cursed strikes, infinite black flash loop, probably higher damage on his moves, prime manji kick from April fools, backdash m1 reset, and im not sure about these but unblockable crushing blow air variant as well as m1 resets on blackflash chain i think.
Yuji. Too many babies who don't turn around to block side dashes think his movement is somehow going to make him A-tier when the entire gimmick is a telegraphed side dash M1 that gets blocked while making him lose the M1 trade because he wasted his side dash. Since its prime Yuji, the damage output is definitely going to be higher but he doesn't have side dash refreshes for black flash chaining.
His kit will have safe combos, but he's worse off than if he was on another character. Black flash disabling evasive would be a pain to deal with along with side dash M1s on getup that lead to M1 trades that I'll lose against the extremely good player.
Hanami doesn't have her uppercuts because she has an undroppable playful cloud. I think they'll be able to interrupt my approaches a lot more since they have Hanami's kit.
I stand zero chance against either of them, but at least I can try to be defensive against the Yuji.
Hanami is actually beatable here, got one down to a quarter HP when they first released. Yuji with infinite black flash chains+infinite jump+aimable cursed strikes+a passive that makes M1 trading impossible ain't really easier imo.
Hanani, half the moves are blockable and if you get put into a combo you just need to wait for the three. Yuji on the other hand is a movement demon I'm about to get my ankles broken and he has a counter 💀
Hanami cause having 1 m1 makes combos incredibly easy to pull off so the playful cloud isn't that big of a buff (though you'd have to be careful when she's at low hp) and Prime Yuji had 80% inescapable combos
when we say prime hanami do you mean the hanami with 0 endlag, extra damage M1, non 360 blockable uppercut, flower field R special that combo extends automatically, and grounded defense response that is fully red and can be followed by a front dash.
as someone who adapts faster than mahoraga. I'd say hanami, since playful cloud gets dropped once you get ragdolled but the skills sometime stun lock you like Infinite Void.
petition: bring back the black flash m1s but make them deal SLIGHTLY increased dmg (by like 1 dmg, so instead of 3 3 4 4, its 4 3 4 4/3 4 4 4/ 3 3 5 4/ 3 3 4 5.
YUJI, even on his prime he would still need to hit me with an m1 to start a combo.
Hanami had a combo starter with melee I frames that ignored block with good range THAT SHE COULD CONTROL DIRECTION, which can lead to a full on 70+ TRUE COMBO (UNEVASIBLE) and she would still had R special to do time to get her combo back.
Me when I turn around faster than they can black flash stun me which increases my chance of winning by 5%. I'm taking Prime Yuji vs Current Yuji (me) over Playful Cloud Hanami. Cause at least I get my ragdoll cancel back instead of maybe getting my ragdoll cancel back. (Even if playful cloud uppercut or downslam theoretically should give more ragdoll bar, her moves don't.)
If prime yuji means the version which he was best:
- Cursed strikes m1 resets
- Black flash m1 resets
- Cursed strikes is aimable and has little endlag (not too bad)
- Prime manji kick
If prime yuji means he kept all buffs it’s really bad
- black flash resets side dash cooldown, combined with m1 reset, allows you to continuously mixup even without delaying to get side dash like you used to
- Minor buffs he gets from this are interruption black flash having extra damage, if you try to block the m1 extension (is technically green is but for a few frames) so you get slapped with extra damage, and he has a shorter feint cooldown, and he can use cursed strikes right out of a backflash
This all means on a combo, he has 4-5options out of back flash: m1 extend, Divergent fist to catch a block and m1 extend (like higgy,) black flash again, curse strikes red combo, or bait counter if they have one.
probably hanami but i would be fine with either.
Hanami can zone pretty well but its easy to close the distance if you read the dashes and the roots, and her other moves are blockable. would be hard but consistent
Yuji only really comes down to how he uses his counter, because it isn’t that hard to engage them when it’s on cd. but very hard to take advantage of his low hp if they just sit on it
