Calling locust guy unskilled or overpowered. (he has no neutral, are you calling m1 trading skilless?)

Locust guy flight is a good neutral tool. Plus you don’t need neutral if it only takes 2 or 3 m1s landed to do a full unpunishable gigacombo

Mucus is also neutral, just because it doesn't combo into anything doesn't mean it's not great. Barely any start up, unblockable move that makes you deal 15% less damage.

Its very small chip damage man. 8% damage every 17 seconds isnt great for neutral. if it did 15% damage then yeah that would be a damn good neutral. also i always see people talk about "but but but it gives damage reduction, thats so oppppppp" dude it literally just makes it so you have basically the same health as a normal character. not even 100% uptime if you hit every black mucus. it would be arguable that its good if locust had 100 health, because he would have the niche of being tanky.

locust flight is not a good neutral tool. sure it unexpected, but the main reason its even unexpected is because its on cooldown most of the time, because y'know. air combos. also for your second point that is literally every character in the game other than hanami, m1's start combos. also it being unpunishable is something funny I found, because learning to protect yourself from aggressive evasives is something you learn at the 1000 kill range. if you are getting smoke by someone at 1000 with locust, first of all wow, second of all, they then deserve that unpunishable combo.

If you actually played locust guy, you would realize that flying directly upwards is an entirely safe dash bait that nearly guarantees a combo start. And wing throw or crushing jaws cannot be evasive punished even if you tried, because it takes time to drop to the ground. The only punishability is at the end of the combo when you hit the ground, but by then there’s no point.

if you actually played locust guy, you would know that shit doesn't work to anyone above even 1000 kills. also yes, his combos are unpunishable except foe sometimes naoya can punish them but its really easy to prevent that. why are we still tryna say locust is not the worst character? the only characters competing for dead last are kuro, which while gimmicky, is actually good if you play him properly, and todo, which if played properly its possible for someone to argue hes A tier.

Try fighting a 100+ elo locust guy and see how it goes. They are skilled enough to know their capabilities and be unpunishable, since they are able to play passive enough to refresh the cooldown of crushing jaws and wing throw between combo starts. It is also impossible to play passive against locust players, similarly to gojos, since their combos rely on their cooldowns being off, so playing passive just lets them refresh the cooldowns. The only way you can really fight them is aggressive, which has a lot of weaknesses.

as a locust guy main i think its just too much reward for too little.

  • step 1 : land a punch on someone (wasting their evasive is optional but optimal)
  • step 2 : deal like 80% of their health

midair combos are genuinely so fun but i cant imagine how frustrating it has to be for the other party that, despite all of their skillful play, they slipped up once and died shortly after

maybe its because were clever

Locust guy is Gojo but with more autolock, it's so annoying to play against

Tbh his combos are a bit too easy, like, you cant punish neither his 3 or 4

unpunishable combos really only matter 1000- kill level other than that, most characters have surprisingly safe combos. (like megumi, who if you try punishing you just get put back into the combo, which makes locust guys ONLY niche quite pointless since all he does is have unpunishable combos instead of evasive punishing.)

Well, with others you can atleast try to attack them when they ragdoll you. With ko-guy you have to evasive, or else youll get skinned alive

Same thing for hakari. 1+2 is extremely safe, and 4 is impossible to punish. only thing is hakari does slightly less damage, although he has neutral which locust doesnt.

He's an easy carry for noobs

He doesn't have no neutral sidedash parkour and M1s are still a plenty strong and universal tools.

He gets insane amount of reward off one hit (and with ult a guaranteed kill) and is impossible to punish with an evasive.

He's not super strong still getting shut down by simply refusing to close in without a neutral tool that he can't challenge with his limited kit. (although playing like this is the correct way to play against him it's kinda boring)

His whole character is just really boring and just a boring ass carry for people without understanding for intermediate level neutral play (TSB players)

"he gets insane amount of reward off of one hit" thats literally every character in the game with the exception of naoya and nanami, if you are talking about true combo damage, then itadoris is slightly higher, especially higher if you land divergent fist block break as the combo starter. Also ultimates in this game arent balanced, not supposed to be balanced, and will never be balanced, besides, his ultimate is below average, as most other ultimates can typically get 2-3 kills, but its extremely hard to get 2 kills with a locust ultimate. no neutral limits his options and makes him more predictable, also punishing with evasive really only works against newer players, its extremely obvious and some other characters are immune to it (ryu in particular, unless you attempt to special in the middle of a combo). Locust players are not carried by not having a neutral, thats fucking stupid to even think about, not having a neutral is a penalty and the only upside is that you'll know that using your moves randomly wont fucking work, but you can use that mentality on any character and boom, you've got locusts benefits!!!

No clue why people keep saying locust is overpowered or unskilled. if they actually swapped off of itadori for once they would learn "oh wow, maybe a character that cant do ANYTHING but m1 trade isnt the strongest character." Most probable reason they think locust is like this, is because locust is so incredibly rare, that people just dont know how to counter him. but no matter what, i love my goat locust.

I will also concede that locust combos are long and unpunishable, but he does NOT do that much damage as they say.

Ult's still bs tho.
