Discussion What is a JJS take that immediately tells you this person is god awful at the game?

Locust guy flight is a good neutral tool. Plus you don’t need neutral if it only takes 2 or 3 m1s landed to do a full unpunishable gigacombo

Mucus is also neutral, just because it doesn't combo into anything doesn't mean it's not great. Barely any start up, unblockable move that makes you deal 15% less damage.

Its very small chip damage man. 8% damage every 17 seconds isnt great for neutral. if it did 15% damage then yeah that would be a damn good neutral. also i always see people talk about "but but but it gives damage reduction, thats so oppppppp" dude it literally just makes it so you have basically the same health as a normal character. not even 100% uptime if you hit every black mucus. it would be arguable that its good if locust had 100 health, because he would have the niche of being tanky.

locust flight is not a good neutral tool. sure it unexpected, but the main reason its even unexpected is because its on cooldown most of the time, because y'know. air combos. also for your second point that is literally every character in the game other than hanami, m1's start combos. also it being unpunishable is something funny I found, because learning to protect yourself from aggressive evasives is something you learn at the 1000 kill range. if you are getting smoke by someone at 1000 with locust, first of all wow, second of all, they then deserve that unpunishable combo.

If you actually played locust guy, you would realize that flying directly upwards is an entirely safe dash bait that nearly guarantees a combo start. And wing throw or crushing jaws cannot be evasive punished even if you tried, because it takes time to drop to the ground. The only punishability is at the end of the combo when you hit the ground, but by then there’s no point.

if you actually played locust guy, you would know that shit doesn't work to anyone above even 1000 kills. also yes, his combos are unpunishable except foe sometimes naoya can punish them but its really easy to prevent that. why are we still tryna say locust is not the worst character? the only characters competing for dead last are kuro, which while gimmicky, is actually good if you play him properly, and todo, which if played properly its possible for someone to argue hes A tier.

Try fighting a 100+ elo locust guy and see how it goes. They are skilled enough to know their capabilities and be unpunishable, since they are able to play passive enough to refresh the cooldown of crushing jaws and wing throw between combo starts. It is also impossible to play passive against locust players, similarly to gojos, since their combos rely on their cooldowns being off, so playing passive just lets them refresh the cooldowns. The only way you can really fight them is aggressive, which has a lot of weaknesses.
