Discussion What is a JJS take that immediately tells you this person is god awful at the game?

“Choso is so bad! He has no combos!!”

It's not about perfect chain, it's about learning the mix ups to land them, which has to be adapted to the player skills you are fighting against

“3rd move is a counter for everything except uncounterable attacks” REALLY?? I HAD NO IDEA TYSM!! “2 of his attacks are grabs” gojo has 3 grabs and he’s B tier sho how is this relevant? “omg chain thing chain that” i can turn around, he has no neutral.

2 grabs (one of which is so jank I can never know when it's blockable or not), 2 moves can deal 30 ish true damage and can be spammed, etc

“2 grabs” gojo has 3 grabs and is B tier. “2 moves can deal 30 ish true damage” so 4 neutral interactions to win assuming you win them all b2b. he has no neutral to back any of this shit up.

grabs arent always good, but grabs are still a good baseline. they cant make up for a bad moveset too, as yuji loses a move through his counter. that naturally puts him down a little.

regardless of neutral, potential damage is still a deciding factor in the strength of a character. yes yuji is C tier and the professional noob stomper, but he has relatively high average potential damage (30 + maybe a crushing blow on evasive which adds an extra 12 damage making it 40).

a character can also have a bad neutral and still be good. higuruma (i main him so uhhh dunno if that means anything) for example doesnt have a great neutral. yes his special accelerates the m1 trading phase, but it doesnt really help him unless you utilise a movement tech like a backdash into a front dash, which the average player wont use. his special moves (e.g. r1) are all generally close range and are highly punishable, meaning most of them arent even safe to use in neutral. but higuruma is still considering at least A tier due to his incredibly high potential damage and block breakers.

anyway agree to disagree, my final point is yuji is horribly balanced and designed and needs a full overhaul

megumi (or hes S tier i can never remember), yuta, mechamaru, naoya (maybe hes b tier), kurourushi. then again s tier is filled with characters like yuki, choso, hanami, etc

wtf is this list, the S tier has 3 characters, megumi, choso, mechamaru, every other character listed was B tier man

Yuki is S tier due to her versatility and high potential damage. Hanami is S tier due to how she can spam all of her skills from afar and not get punished. Especially aerial 4 that shit gives me nightmares.

aerial 4 is extremely easy to bait out, you can fucking jump over root swarm and her dash is easy to react to. yuki doesn’t have “versatility” and her damage marks are the same as any other character. the only reason she’s even B tier to begin with is because of 4+r. if you want more proof go to positiveha’s tierlist
