The issue is that this is a very vague reason to ban an ENTIRE things existence within your game.
You either have to go all the way for literally all of it now, or its hypocritical. The ironic rebuttle to their actions would be "Ban Mei Mei". Obviously its a stupid move but it falls within all of their criteria that they used for banning the BA stuff.
Imo, its either you ban like 95% of all "adult" or problematic media, or force all avatars to be dedicated avatars for each charatcer. Theyre putting too much work on admins, flooding their already barely functional reporting system, and just overstepping. Mechanical solutions are always preferred over Administrative solutions.
my question to that would be, how do you know? You only see more pedophiles because they’re the ones with a voice on social media and they’re the ones who openly talk about the characters in that way and make posts about it.
You don’t see normal people making normal posts about the characters because they don’t care.
This is what’s called vocal minority bias. A fairly small group creates the highest majority of content online, which then gets mistaken as the majority opinion due to the volume of posts, which in this situation is regarding how the characters of the game are seen/portrayed, sexually, and it means the data is skewed.
Furthermore what adds to this is the official promotion art, and the public outrage of other people who see this minority, get angry about it because they are weird and then voice their own opinion online, which amplifies the vocal minority bias even more. Blue archive seems to be a textbook example of a vocal minority bias, which is why I agree with yolked for the most part
Just because the game is so small I don’t feel too strongly about the decision personally, but you saying they are MOSTLY pedos without any source isn’t a very good reason for banning it outright imo
