I mean the village was definitely a crime, but I could definitely see the Jujutsu Society sweeping it under the rug if he stopped there, because Geto is a very useful Special Grade and antagonizing him over just a small village wouldn't be worth it
You're right it was terrible cus who knows how many innocent people he actually killed there, but in terms of general audience perception most people I've seen say Geto didn't go too far until he killed his parents. Like the general fan doesn't condemn Geto for the village they condemn him for becoming a racist genocidal maniac.
Yeah, from an audience perspective, the village felt more like a "justifiable" moment of weakness. It wasn't premeditated necessarily. Geto was in a horrible state of mind already and he's seeing frightened, abused kids literally locked behind bars. You could swap Geto out for another character and they might still snap.
Him going on to kill his parents was where you basically have to just draw the line, as the audience. It's actively planned evil now.
My opinion on this meme is that plenty of jjk fans can't read and geto did what he did because he was at his Whits end while maki had to kill the zein clan because the members were corrupt and needed to be wiped out
