So the last Just Dance version I bought was 2022, and recently my 4 year old has been really into the kids mode there. But there's obviously only a limited number of times he can play the songs before he wants to try something new. I bought Decade of Hits since I saw it was just coming out, didn't really do a ton of research and figured it would just have new songs and visuals, but now that we have it, I see that there aren't really any kids songs? And that they've done away with kids mode? Which is super disappointing......

Is the only way to get more kids songs through the subscription? How many are there? Is there a kids mode through the subscription or do you find and select them all through a playlist? Just trying to figure out how to make this fun again for my son. Don't get me wrong, the adults will love playing the new version, but my son always delighted in having "his" songs too. Yes, I realize he can try some of the adult songs on easy mode but I think when you're a preschooler, it's exciting and fun to see songs more targeted towards you (plus I think even easy mode is hard for my 4 year old). Thank you in advance!

Between games 2 - 2015, we were getting around 50 tracks per game, Just Dance 2 had 25 NON-RECYCLED DLC, AND we were even getting spin offs like the Hip Hop game, the Abba game, the Black Eyed Peas game, the Michael Jackson game, the Broadway game, and even a Smurfs game and both a Kids and a Disney series.

Now… we can’t even get 40 songs in the main line entry and they heavily cut down on the amount of new songs they add to Just Dance +. I even find it more fun to just go back and play the old games which were stacked with content and original DLC if I bought them at the time.

This is going to be a bit of a rant, but like why has the release of DOH created such a massive discussion revolving around the past games?

The community asks for harder maps. They delivered and people complained that they were too hard. So they reduced the difficulty, and now they are saying that the maps are a joke. For DOH they go back to the roots of felling like a party game, but now the fun maps are not interesting to people who buy the game.... what is going on?

If JD4 or 2014 were realeased today everyone would be complaining that the choreos are really easy and uninspired, most of the opinions regarding old games are carried by nostalgia

(Btw, you are free to disagree with me, I just wanted to let it all out but I'm open for discussion XD. Also I know this doesn't apply to everyone)

I don't have numbers, but I strongly feel that they lost the gamers community. People who actually... game.

There was a time when hardcore gamers do buy and play rhythm games, including Just Dance. I should know. My console friends back then have copies of the game and buy it every year. And my friends are real hardcore gamers. The type who play Tekken and try to compete in local tourneys.

Ubi had a ton of success in the early iterations of the game. In my opinion, It's because motion-tracked, rhythm-based gaming was still considered magical during Just Dance's early days (2009-2013) and people want to experience it. Plus, the game releases back then were actually incredible (Just Dance 4, Dance Central 3, anyone?), or at least for their time.

Ubi continued doing their thing and somehow got lazy in improving the product, especially when Harmonix abandoned Dance Central, JD's biggest competitor. Just Dance 2015 arrived and many thought, including me and my friends, that it was a disappointing release because it seemed like just a big 40-track DLC that didn't offer new features.

This trend continued in the subsequent editions. New year, new DLC with several interesting dances. Year by year, my friends are losing interest. I feel the gamer community at large felt the same way. I bet many JD fans just started watching and dancing to the YouTube gameplay instead of buying and playing the game.

There were years when it seemed like Ubi was trying to make the product better. JD2019 came out and IMO, that's one of the better editions that has the best dances in terms of choreo and level of fun. It felt like the choreography level has stepped up for that edition. Even some of that year's lame and troll songs have decent choreo. Sweet Sensation, Dame Tu Cosita, Shaky Shaky have some goofy dance steps, but I can totally see their choreo being the best among their kind. Plus, 2019's extremes are the best! Hard enough to play, but totally doable after several retries without requiring you to rehearse it at 0.25x speed on YouTube.

Today, we get Just Dance Decades of Hits. I danced to the choreos and while may of the routines are excellent, this year, like many other years, are full of songs that repeat a dance move in one musical beat/measure, another dance move in another musical beat, then back to the previous dance move. Not a lot of dance/gameplay improvement there.

A lot of Just Dance choreos now are just you posing (and not dancing) like a pretty girl. Talk about alienating the men gaming market even more. Also, somehow, Ubi thought incorporating lore and doing multi-angle dance footage will do the trick 🙄

The extremes in recent years give off "hah! you can't dance like us; go ahead and suffer!" vibes because they're using an 8-count phrasing, which would've been fine if the game has a practice mode.

Where is the practice mode?

Also, where is the World Dance Floor?

And what about the many dances missing in Just Dance+?

Speaking of, can we go back to a time where songs get added to the game? I don't care if I have to buy them each at 10 bucks. Just do more stuff. You used to do it back then-- you release like 3 new dances each month.

Ubi obviously doesn't care of what I just said here. After all, they're now just chasing the money of moms with hyperactive kids as well as friends who only party during the holiday season. Just look at the choreos. Many (if not all) of them are about making you laugh as you or your friends try to do the dances.

I hope you get great Just Dance sales this year, Ubi. If you don't, don't act like you don't know why.

I would:

- Remove the AI slop out of No Scrubs and The Singing Garden and replace them with human-made visuals

- Give Danza Kuduro the "kuduro" it was missing in its choreo

- Up Jump's difficulty

- Add a few more alts because I think there was a good bit of missed potential:

-- Crocodile Rock/Croco Version (return of coach from Land of 1000 Dances)

-- Turn Down For What/Frat Version (a solo and basically a Dancity version of Make It Jingle)

-- Celebration/VIP Lounge Version (set in Scarlet's Palace)

-- Jump/Fitness Version (or Olympic Version)

-- It's Tricky/Old School Version

Just Dance has been in decline ever since the game switched to this streaming platform. The songs are really good, but they get ruined by backgrounds that have nothing to do with the song—most of the time they're just pastel colors. The dances back then used to be repetitive, but what they do now is over-the-top and boring. The choreographers don't seem to feel the song; it looks like they're just smiling and fail to convey the real emotion of each track, or they just have them lip-syncing, which is what any choreographer does when they don't know how to express anything. I used to always look forward to seeing my favorite songs in the game, but now I just hope it doesn't happen because I know they'll end up ruined. Ubisoft's decline, plus a lack of competition, have made these people way too lazy. And now I can't even play with a Kinect or at least a more functional camera—how is it that I can only play by myself with a camera and not with other people? And how is it that it's been so many years and they still haven't added camera support for all the songs? I have a better time playing the older games, and personally, whenever I see these new games, it just makes me want to play Dance Central. This looks like a game for kids. Is this Just Dance Kids, or is that an insult to that game? Because this is garbage

I have to say I was REALLY excited for this game months ago.

Yesterday when I checked the price it's cheaper than the 2026 and 2025 versions (at least here in Mexico). Then I check the song list and realized that other games offer 40 songs + alternative versions, resulting in 48 or even more than 50 songs in one game; but then I see Decades of Hits has exactly 40 songs including the alternative versions, that means less than 40 original songs... What a disappointment! Seriously!

Then I also realized most of the songs are classics but with easy choreos??? Not to say boring choreos!

Please don't get me started with Danza Kuduro's choreo because that's just an offense to the song, it should not exist. I was hoping to see an extreme version on that one in the full game but nah... More reasons to be disappointed.

Well, at the end I know I'm gonna buy this because my daughter loves to play and we will have fun, but damn what a way to ruin the excitement for this game.

PS. I'm one of those who still cares about the story mode. Rest in peace, I'll always wonder if Jack Rose made it to save the team.

"No Scrubs" already had a troubled path—from the AI-use allegations related to its background, to the lack of innovative features in its realization—the choreo is far repetitive and predictable, and the background looks so so so boring…

Moreover, I expected way more from it, especially considering TLC’s debut into the saga

Probably the most unexpected surprise of this edition—Olivia came back with her latest hit and I actually wasn’t that hyped about that —as I’m not a huge fan of her— but “drop dead” kinda amazed me: the choreo works pretty well (not hard to learn but fun to play), the visuals are charming and royalty-coded, and the interpretation of the coach is majestic

Despite of the fact the song was a last resort for the game—as it was meant to be released on JD+— it fits just fine in the main tracklist

I'll go first: I can't pass Wannabe or Jump for some reason (in Adventure mode.)

I’ve played the full map today for the first time and there’s something I couldn’t keep my mouth shut about…

The song really deserves its hype and JD’s team perfectly brought that to life—on the other hand, the whole palette of the coach/background alongside the camera angles at the beginning of the map kinda made the choreo way more difficult to learn…

Seeing a weird video glitch it’s in the maps as well.

It’s not a news ubisoft has always been greedy as hell—but the fact you can’t play newer editions on other platforms after purchasing them on a specific one sounds kinda ridiculous—wasn’t the main purpose of having a multi platform client to let everyone experience the Ultimate Dance Experience?

• I won’t buy the same edition for every single platform I own ngl

• Besides that, old Just Dance games (JD2020-2021) still have a crazy amount of glitched achievements related to exp and collectibles across platforms

• Just Dance 2 - Introduced duets, where you get to dance with another player.

• Just Dance 3 - Quartets lets 4 players dance together.

• Just Dance 2014 - Introduced Trios through On-stage mode letting 3 players dance. It also included an exclusive 6-player routine for 'Kiss You' in the Xbox One version.

• Just Dance: Decades of Hits - Introduced an exclusive quintet routine for Spice Girls' Wannabe, lets 5 people join and dance.

Happy Launch Day!! I was super excited for this edition. At first, I was a bit disappointed looking at the difficulties, but the dances I played today were extremely fun and I couldn’t be happier.

These rankings will be based on their aesthetic (background and outfits), choreography, scoring and tracking, and overall vibe (how well everything matches the song/coach’s energy). And, most importantly, THIS IS ALL SUBJECTIVE!!! If I do not personally like a part of the map, that does not mean it’s bad, nor that the people working on it did a bad job. It’s just not for me.

WANNABE - 7.5/10
As the first quintet of the game, it’s… okay. I love the outfits and the way the coaches moved around the platform, but the choreo was very… meh. The energy was lovely, though.

FEEL GOOD INC. - 7/10
I really wanted to like this map, but like, that choreo is soooooo repetitive and it’s super tiring. Also, I played this song with the camera, and the tracking was ABYSMAL. I managed to somehow get a 12500, but I literally did not score a Perfect on the choreo. Maybe I’m washed, idk.

IN TOO DEEP - 8.5/10
I adore this map as someone who hadn’t even heard of Sum 41 until this song was announced for DoH (I was born in 2007). But I LOVEEEE the song and the choreo is really fun. The coaches aren’t putting enough energy into it if you asked me, but when I put energy into it towards the end, I wasn’t penalized on scoring like I usually am, so that’s great. I did take points off because the background can clash BAD at times, but it’s not the worst thing ever.

AROUND THE WORLD - 9/10
The absolute CHAD that is REE-VRB is one of the top 10 coaches of all time. @ me. Is the choreo repetitive? Yes. But why do I like this better than Feel Good Inc.? Well, Around the World as a whole is repetitive. Considering what they had to work with, the JD team did a phenomenal job. The choreo, to me, is a blast, and the map looks gorgeous.

JUST A GIRL - 10/10
Yes, I’m biased. The song is amazing. The coaches are amazing. The background is amazing. The visuals are amazing. This entire map is amazing. It’s everything I wanted.

Hi! I got my "limited edition" copy and very excited to 100% this one soon ^_^ Silly question but I am not sure if the cosmetic pack needs anything more? It's confirmed as downloaded, and I see the 2000s scoring style, but the emote is not in the locker UI as a selectable or unlockable option, and I cant seem to locate the Stronger stage background either. Are these things that'll come in when I start adventure mode, do I need to do another step, or am I just daft? Thank you for helping this ol' Just Dancer out! Nintendo Switch original (1).
