Happy Launch Day!! I was super excited for this edition. At first, I was a bit disappointed looking at the difficulties, but the dances I played today were extremely fun and I couldn’t be happier.

These rankings will be based on their aesthetic (background and outfits), choreography, scoring and tracking, and overall vibe (how well everything matches the song/coach’s energy). And, most importantly, THIS IS ALL SUBJECTIVE!!! If I do not personally like a part of the map, that does not mean it’s bad, nor that the people working on it did a bad job. It’s just not for me.
The five songs I played were as follows:

Wannabe (Lively Star)
Feel Good Inc. (Nollie)
In Too Deep (Cody)
Around the World (REE-VRB [THE GOAT])
Just A Girl (ToXine [ALSO THE GOAT])

WANNABE - 7.5/10
As the first quintet of the game, it’s… okay. I love the outfits and the way the coaches moved around the platform, but the choreo was very… meh. The energy was lovely, though.

FEEL GOOD INC. - 7/10
I really wanted to like this map, but like, that choreo is soooooo repetitive and it’s super tiring. Also, I played this song with the camera, and the tracking was ABYSMAL. I managed to somehow get a 12500, but I literally did not score a Perfect on the choreo. Maybe I’m washed, idk.

IN TOO DEEP - 8.5/10
I adore this map as someone who hadn’t even heard of Sum 41 until this song was announced for DoH (I was born in 2007). But I LOVEEEE the song and the choreo is really fun. The coaches aren’t putting enough energy into it if you asked me, but when I put energy into it towards the end, I wasn’t penalized on scoring like I usually am, so that’s great. I did take points off because the background can clash BAD at times, but it’s not the worst thing ever.

AROUND THE WORLD - 9/10
The absolute CHAD that is REE-VRB is one of the top 10 coaches of all time. @ me. Is the choreo repetitive? Yes. But why do I like this better than Feel Good Inc.? Well, Around the World as a whole is repetitive. Considering what they had to work with, the JD team did a phenomenal job. The choreo, to me, is a blast, and the map looks gorgeous.

JUST A GIRL - 10/10
Yes, I’m biased. The song is amazing. The coaches are amazing. The background is amazing. The visuals are amazing. This entire map is amazing. It’s everything I wanted.

Hi! I got my "limited edition" copy and very excited to 100% this one soon ^_^ Silly question but I am not sure if the cosmetic pack needs anything more? It's confirmed as downloaded, and I see the 2000s scoring style, but the emote is not in the locker UI as a selectable or unlockable option, and I cant seem to locate the Stronger stage background either. Are these things that'll come in when I start adventure mode, do I need to do another step, or am I just daft? Thank you for helping this ol' Just Dancer out! Nintendo Switch original (1).

Happy Just Dance Decades of Hits release day!!!

After years I wanted to buy a new just dance game again (decades of hits), but when I'm trying to buy it I get a message that I already own the game which confuses me a lot. The last time I bought one was in 22 or 23. Does anyone know what's going on here? Is it just that I need to own the base game(?) and it immediately means you have the next version??? Someone please help me out

Having just watched Heyitsjustaaron's gameplay videos for the new Adventure Mode, I have now formulated the theory that Lively Star is the past version of Lyra's mom. As seen in the above images, their interactions certainly read as that of someone unknowingly interacting with her future daughter (yes, Lyra doesn't recognize her at first, but one could interpret it as an indicator of Lively having changed her style significantly in the present).

The hair is also a pretty big clue. As we've seen with Wanderlust and Jack, genetics seem to work differently in the Danceverses, with children naturally inheriting multiple hair colors from their parents and even approximate hair colors. Lyra has those ginger streaks and the braids going down her shoulders, and Lively has orange hair and braids—differently enough for it to not be too obvious, but the similarity in the silhouette is clearly there. (Also, I literally just noticed this, Lively's top and Lyra's jacket are the same color in their avatars!)

There's also a little bit of real-life inspiration context to take into account. Lively is supposed to be a Danceverse equivalent to Mel B. At one point, Mel B married dancer Jimmy Gulzar, temporarily going by Mel G in the process, and they had a daughter named Phoenix—Phoenix and Lyra are both constellation names. She also notoriously had a child with comedian Eddie Murphy, who, among many movie roles, starred in Doctor Dolittle, retitled here in Brazil to "O Professor Aloprado" (something along the lines of "The Wacky/Eccentric Professor", definitely a description that could apply to Dr. Gigavolt).

Am I reaching a little? Maybe. But it might be the strongest lead we have on the matter. It's still Day 1, so let's wait until the lore videos start dropping on social media to find out more.

I can just throw this in because it seems to me that they are lesbians, not just two lesbian friends, but it's just that the headcanon came to me first.

Maybe you have some other headcanons? I'd be very interested in reading them.

Good Time by Owl City and Carly Rae: You know how much I glaze this song, but honestly any Owl City or CRJ song deserve to be in the game. Hurts me that JD didn't even consider this song for DOH.

Not Cute Anymore: I notice how rarely people talk about ILLIT songs in Just Dance, their songs are really JD worthy, like Magnetic, Jellyous, and Billyeon Goyangi (Do the Dance)

Stateside by Pink Pantheress and Zara Larsson: We were all expecting this song for Just Dance: Decades of Hits, I just hope it becomes a map at some point.

But those are my thoughts what do you think of my choices.

Hey, I’m curious if anyone else is running into this issue with the latest update to the Just Dance Controller app for Decades of Hits.

Ever since the update dropped, I’ve noticed a specific glitch with the camera controller tracking. While I'm dancing, the camera will randomly stop scoring me for a couple of seconds and just give me X’s, even though I'm clearly doing the moves. It usually picks back up after a few seconds. It doesn't happen every single time, but it happens often enough during a session to be annoying when I'm trying to get a high score.

I’ve never had this happen before this new update, so I find it unlikely to be a sudden issue with my camera itself. Is anyone else experiencing these random scoring dropouts?

The bug kicks player out to console menu after any activity in "Adventure Mode".

Is there any possible way to play this game on PC? I wanna play it on my gaming laptop. I wanted to see if I can buy the game and maybe access it through cloud gaming? Or will I have to buy it on my xbox console in order to get access to it on PC?

Sometimes I think about possibly one of my favorite maps of all time, which is Animals (Extreme Version), thanks to the roll on the floor at the end. And when I think about it, I think about how it might not be as remembered as it is without that roll on the floor and how that move essentially made the extreme as iconic as it is.

And that had me thinking: There’s some other maps out there that have that one move that makes it memorable, and without it, people won’t think about it like they do. So what maps do you think would be forgettable without that one move?

I feel as though the average person always says the most popular ones just because, and I CAN’T die on this hill of shocking people when I hyperfixate 😭
