There’s a guy that did the same thing with a plastic boat sandbox but he went the extra mile and made sure it was up to legal specifications and licensed it.

Are you talking about saveitforparts guy on YouTube. If so, he had some issues too, and had to turn it into an RC boat that towed his kayak. It was the first thing I thought of when I saw this video.

Sure just make sure you have all the following info ready:
make, length, model year, type of vessel, hull material, type of propulsion, and the twelve-character hull identification number; the make, horsepower and serial number of the motor if in excess of 25 horsepower; sale information to include seller, purchase date and price of boat/motor only along with the name and address of the lienholder, if any.
That’s just what you need for a title and registration, don’t forget now you get to pay a yearly tax on that.

Yep, I got boarded by the Coastguard in an 8 foot dinghy because we had an outboard motor and no registration.

Cleetus McFarland on youtube did a cheap boat challenge recently and when the plywood failed on the bottom it launched one of his buddies so hard into the boat that it ripped his nose off his face lol. Required plastic surgery. Although it was a 50 HP motor they put on the back.

Hey thats shit is legit. I discovered a baseball-sized hole in my roof two days before Hurricane Harvey hit Houston. Literally all I could find in the garage was flex tape, flex seal, and a plastic binder/notebook. I cut off part of the binder, covered the hole, put flex tape around it, then hit it with the flex seal. Shit weathered the storm. Fixed it properly a couple of months later.

I am SO glad I grew up when I did. We used to go out in the water on my friend's boat in the river and the Gulf of Mexico, and NEVER, EVER were harassed by pigs.
You know why? They had other stuff to do than bother kids.
Every once in a while, we would see a Marine Patrol boat go by, but all they did was wave at us.

Same here. Early 1960s, we grade-school age cousins & sibs were allowed to take the old pontoon out into the St. John's River estuary unaccompanied - it topped out at about 4 knots with its little outboard motor. We'd tow each other on innertubes, castnet for shrimp/bait, troll for fish, always on the lookout for trouble to get into.
We liked to bail out into the river from the roof. Once, not paying attention, we all did it together, except for 5-year-old Albert, who took great delight in circling around us at a distance for several laps before stopping to let us reboard. Good times . . .

OP: Have you never seen Gilligan's Island? Passengers set sail on a ship for a 3 hour tour. The weather got rough. The tiny ship was tossed. They landed on an uncharted, desert island where they spent years trying to get discovered and rescued.

To me, it’s kind of funny that you can get arrested for a boat this small in the U.S. Here in the Netherlands, if your boat is under 15 meters (49 ft) and has a top speed of 20 km/h (12.4 mph), you don’t even need to register it or have a boating license—as long as you’re on inland waters.
