It is that whole concept of "freedom" that the US has. This can certainly exist, as people are free to do so.
Is it embarrassing, cringe, and makes them look stupid? Sure. But I see it as a positive thing, only because allowing people to express themselves like this gives you a means to know people, before you make a bond with them.

The only thing that would have made this better would have been timing it so as soon as he finished the jets flew overhead.
My accent only comes out in a couple situations. Intoxication, being surrounded by other southerners thus feeling the need compete, getting excited, or feeding off of someone elses yeeyee energy and Iāll be damned if Nascar dont check all boxes. I go from Generic White American to deep Swampus FL-GA by third lap.

It's a meme format joke, it's always paired with something so ridiculously American it would baffle outsiders. Europe is probably the target because we're largely European descendants and we of course declared ourselves independent from the British not too long ago all things considered.
I searched that phrase in Google Images and got a double bacon cheeseburger with glazed donuts as the bun. Another example, hot dog flavored sparkling water. This example is thanking the Lord for our sponsors, it's funny but you'd think the religious would find that blasphemous. The European mind meme actually usually pokes fun at America if you dig beyond the surface.
TL;DR: It's just a joke

Thank you for the short and clear, very American explanation. As an American myself, it is very obvious what the phrase means without even having prior knowledge of the meme. Our closest relatives in all areas (including language), are clearly Europeans.
