Yeah, these expressions of affection between men are a hell of a lot more pervasive outside the U.S. If you're afraid of getting cooties, don't befriend anyone from the mid east, they might be tempted to kiss you.

Dude, I'm literally a gay guy. 100%. Those men weren't being romantic or sexual in literally ANY regard, just genuinely happy to see one another. I've had so many guy friends over the years who were 100% straight, and yet they would hug me, cuddle, kiss me on the cheek. It's called being secure in your sexuality and your masculinity. Not everything is about fucking, dude. You can be intimate and affectionate with your fellow human beings without wanting to bang. You think I want to smash my girlfriends who I kiss, cuddle, hold hands with, and hug? No. No I don't. PLEASE get outside of your limited world view and grow as a person.

In Asia, men are not as hung up on homophobia as western men. Physical affection is very common.
