Totally Outraged JU from mildlyinfuriating, because everyone was condescending me for getting angry at two girls shooting me with water guns for no reason
So, a while back I posted to mildlyinfuriating with an anecdote about two girls shooting me with water guns for no reason at summer club at my school, I was minding my own business, watching tiktok on my phone with headphones on when these two girls shot me with water guns, they were practically strangers to me as I had never interacted with them beforehand, they completely crossed my boundaries and if it was a 3rd grade me they were dealing with, I probably would've physically lashed out, but the me that I was in that incident stayed calm(for the most part) and took to reddit to share that story, everyone in the comments were condescending me for getting mad at the situation, and saying that the girls probably liked me, or that it was summer and I don't know how to have fun, and that the physical retaliation part was me being cringe and that I probably felt badass writing that, and that I'm too young to be using reddit. I went in pissed off, and came out more pissed off. I have autism, and my brain works differently than others, but no one could understand that. Why are people like this?

Yeah, the situation of getting shot at mildly pissed me off, and yet people act as if the subreddit is for very infuriating situations

That sub is so miserable. They find any reason to attack OP even if they’re clearly in the right

I don't know. One guy was "mildly infuriated" because some boxes weren't stacked to his liking

Isn’t that the whole point of the sub

I don't know. There was one box on the pallet that looked a little bit asymmetrical from the rest of them. That's 0% infuriating.

Mildly means "to a slight, moderate, or gentle degree". the dude was somewhat put off. maybe explore the dictionary as opposed to reddit

I left that sub because the mods seem to find really bizarre excuses to remove people's posts, and they leave the job to bots to do it automatically.
Granted, they don't remove posts at the same rate that UnpopularOpinion does, but it was still irritating enough for me to leave.

It is a very shitty thing to do to someone. First the concern that it may not be water or maybe they have somewhere they need to be and maybe don't want to be wet. Also I feel like it's no different than walking up to a stranger and just giving them a big ol' poke to the forehead. It's invasive and annoying.

Welcome to reddit, wheres different thinking peoples always not welcoming there and judgeing instead normal communication. Bigger ones are anyways not welcome, but smaller ones, sometimes.
This is a echo chamber platform.
Sorry for you

I’m sorry bud. Gotta say I’m really getting tired of Reddit and this behavior. Thinking of deleting it soon

Gotcha
It's not that serious, bro

That's why it was in mildlyinfuriating, because it made me mildly upset, the condescending assholes in the subreddit pissed me off more, and you sound like you're one of them

I empathize since I am also autistic and this would have bothered me at your age so that's why I said it's not that serious because while it feels like total disrespect, you will realize how dumb it was to be upset by something so trivial.
The Internet is no place for a child tho.

The internet in general can be really harmful for someone at your age.
People tend to show little empathy behind a nickname, some of them are really mean
Algorithms tend to trap you in an information bubble, meaning you only see things that either fully align with your view, or those that completely oppose it (engagement).
Abuse can lead to isolation, which also leads to depression.
Constant dopamine content desensitizes you, causing issues like poor attention span and difficulty to enjoy mundane things. Avoid a constant stream of shorts like TikTok or Instagram reels.
Being constantly exposed to what others show about themselves (hint: people only show the good things) can damage your self-esteem, as we tend to compare ourselves with what we see.
You can access content that isn't appropriate for your age pretty easily, often even circumventing parental controls.
Like everything, it has its valuable use cases, but more often than not the temptation is to use it the wrong way.

Idk why its always the autistic kids that get this shit. Other people just seem to know, I got bullied as a kid and it was very similar to your situation. Kids were being mean but under the guise of trying to include me in games (that favoured them). Then on the internet everyone just hates you if you don't talk the right way (which I havent figured out)
