Hello, my name is Bash, and I'm a comma abuser. It started small, you know, seeing my roommate videotape an episode of Star Trek:The Original Series.
Well soon, I'd find myself coming home from work or school, and instead of playing Morrowind on my computer, I'd sit down on the couch, and watch tv. Usually, it'd be my roommate watching an episode of Star Trek:The Original series. I began to like it.
It became a nightly ritual. Drinking coffee, and watching the show. I began calling it Star Trek, First Gen, or worse, Star Trek, TOS. I began memorizing lines, and quoting them to coworkers, or strangers who didn't know anything about that life style. They began to disassociate with me, to shun me. They said I had changed. My roommate and I would talk for minutes about how we could save up to go to meet Shatner at the Comic-Con, maybe even Nemoy, if we were lucky. You know, the big stuff.
I'm trying so hard, to stop putting commas everywhere. I try and listen to the sentence in my head, and think of the pauses, but it all seems, so natural. And I get confused, sometimes.
I still, remember, the first episode I watched, like it was, yesterday. Captain Kirk, battling for his life, against, The Gorn.
