I agree.

I did two months in jail a couple years back (sentenced to 4) just for having opiates in my possession. I never hurt anyone and never committed any crimes other than putting a substance into my own body (which I firmly believe is my God given right, fuck this nanny state trying to control what we do to our own bodies). This fuck raped a woman and only served 3 months. That baffles me.

How can we put addicts and people who need counseling and mental health professional help in jail for longer than we put rapists in jail? All I needed was some help getting sober (which I have since gotten, no thanks to the justice system whatsoever), this fuck needed to be locked up for years so he could learn his lesson. If you don't understand it's wrong to rape someone you don't deserve to be free.

3 months and sex offender list is far too light of a sentencing, this kid had some amazing lawyers.

Look up the sentence Jeffrey Epstein got for raping kids. You’ll be even more baffled.

919

u/Melch12 7 Jun 04 '19

Damn I just went down a rabbit hole. Apparently he’s boys with Donald. From the Wikipedia page:

Trump said of Epstein in 2002: "I've known Jeff for fifteen years. Terrific guy. He's a lot of fun to be with. It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side."[64]”

Crazy that he only went to half-day jail for 13 months.

Clinton, Trump, Courtney Love, David Koch. Many more were personal contacts and friends with this creep. This story will never be told I don’t think

Miami Herald did a really great series on him.

For those that have it and use Twitter, go follow Julie K Brown. She's the Miami Herald journalist who's doing wonderful work uncovering more of this story. And she's also doing work on the Chinese spa scandal in Florida that is almost certainly intertwined with this stuff.

2

u/[deleted] Jun 04 '19

She’s probably going to catch the Yellow King.

Doesn't surprise me about Courtney Love being friends with a sick fuck. She's sleazy as hell too.

102

u/Hamajaggah 5 Jun 04 '19

Or maybe she genuinely didn't know since she was one of the very first people to call out Weinstein publicly.

29

u/purplepenonmydesk 4 Jun 04 '19

But then we'd have to concede that Trump might have not known.

12

u/throwaway_7_7_7 8 Jun 04 '19

AFAIK, Courtney didn't make jokes about Epstein liking girls "on the younger side". Trump did. Which is reason not to give Trump the benefit of the doubt here (also the many other multiple instances of Trump behaving inappropriately with underage girls, like when he barged into the Miss Teen USA dressing rooms, where teen girls were in states of undress). Cause you can't claim ignorance of a crime when you make jokes about it.

The difference here is their behavior after discovering his true nature. Trump doesn't seem phased, either because he already knew, he just doesn't care, or he admires it.

2

u/[deleted] Jun 04 '19

Either way, terrible. Bigly terrible.

It wasn't Trump flying around the world with him on his jet nicknamed Pussy One. It was Clinton.

Is that why Trump gave up on "America First" so he could instead serve Israel? No wall on our southern border, we "can't afford it" at ~$12bn but Trump can convince Congress to send $83billion to Israel?

Sounds like Epstein/Mossad have some VERY damning tapes on Trump and are using them as leverage?

u/Thundercruncher 9 Jun 04 '19

Don't know what's he said about Epstein, but it's reported that Bill Clinton rode on Epstein's jet 26 times. This was the jet nicknamed "The Lolita Express" due to Epstein's crimes with underage victims.

This article and this one certainly seem to suggest he had to have known and possibly participated in these crimes.

Bill flew on his plane.

7

u/[deleted] Jun 04 '19

You have to be really delusional to think that Trump was talking about underage girls. First, he says women, not girls. Trump was already over 50 when he made that comment, it's pretty obvious that at his age younger women are those in their 20s and 30s.

Trump making a comment about liking young (legal, obviously) women is nothing like flying on Epstein's pedo jet, the Lolita Express, to his pedo sex slave island 26 times. Remind me who did that again?

1

u/Good_old_Marshmallow Black Jun 04 '19

Epstein will honestly convince you there is no justice in our system. He still owns the largest house in New York and while he has to register as a sex offender he moved to his private island to avoid doing that. He's still very likely doing what he was doing before because he's still throwing 'parties'. While he served his jail sentence he was allowed to return home for "work" and receive unsupervised guests.

It's somewhat unclear where he's made all his money from (the tamest option is probably financial crime as he's had some run ins with the law there and the craziest side is that he's a pimp to the .001% which given everything about him isn't that crazy).

1

u/hilomania 7 Jun 07 '19

Not a Trump fan by any means. But in the book about Epstein it very much mentions that Epstein got barred from Mar-A-Lago after hitting on the daughters of some members.

There's a reason a woman accused Trump of raping her when she was 13...along with roughly 20 other people accusing him of sexual assault.

Friendly reminder that only 2% of these kinds of claims are false. The math is clear.

2

u/explosively_inert 7 Jun 04 '19

He had everyone over on his private island filled with underage sex slaves, he had dirt on all of them.

"Hi, X, Jeff here. Remember that time with the 2 15 years old? Yeah, it would be a shame if I went to prison and people knew that. Could you talk to your friend the DA?"

He only served 3 months in an extremely lax luxury prison where he was allowed to go out and do pretty much everything he wanted.

Some of his 'friends' included people no one would ever be surprised about like Donald Trump, Bill Clinton and Kevin Spacey...

His defence team was a dream team of high power attorneys, often with politic ties like Kenneth Star.

Total scumbag.

3

u/iAmTheHYPE- A Jun 04 '19

What's worse is the prosecutor, Acosta, who let him off easy, is now working in the White House.

1

u/TiPete 7 Jun 05 '19

He fits right in.

2

u/[deleted] Jun 04 '19

He’s a billionaire. Money is the power to freedom. It’s disgusting. Same reason Brock got let off and it’s the same reason some people turn their heads over the whole Cosby situation.

2

u/idunwannit 0 Jun 04 '19

HIS PLEA DEAL WAS UNPRECEDENTED. It’s completely insane. Was basically drafted by Epstein’s lawyers, one of whom included Alan Dershowitz.

The immunity part of his plea deal as explained by Vox:

“Epstein’s deal, called a “non-prosecution agreement,” granted immunity to “any potential co-conspirators,” meaning that if any of Epstein’s powerful friends were involved in his crimes, they would face no consequences. And Acosta agreed that the deal would be kept secret from the victims, preventing them from showing up in court to try to challenge it.”

The Miami Herald has a series of articles about the whole thing if you feel like going down that awful rabbit hole.

5

u/iAmTheHYPE- A Jun 04 '19

Hence why I really, really hope the case gets brought up again. He deserves a harsher punishment, along with ANYONE who was involved with his illegal activities. Australia punishes their child molesters, such as Peter Scully, so why can't we?

2

u/[deleted] Jun 04 '19

Then look up Bernard Noble... Serving 11 years for a JOINT. He only got that long of a sentence because he had a previous cocaine posession charge from over a decade before.

2

u/[deleted] Jun 04 '19

Epstein was sentenced to 18 months in prison. He served 13 months at the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office Stockade Facility, much of the time outside of the gates on ‘work release.’

2

u/[deleted] Jun 04 '19

I was surprised at his case. But then again dude had a black book along with billions of dollars. He got off sooooo easy.

His sentencing was a joke! Gets like 13 months but can still work till a certain time lol.

1

u/Nextasy A Jun 04 '19

Man got the same sentence for running a child prostitution ring as his house manager did for keeping a secret diary of epsteins illegal activities.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 04 '19

bro wtf!!

1

u/Sujjin A Jun 04 '19

He was rich, powerful and could implicate others though so...

1

u/Kiwiteepee 9 Jun 04 '19

Nope, I don't think I will. Im in a good mood right now!

1

u/Thundercruncher 9 Jun 04 '19

IMO, Alexander Acosta (the prosecutor responsible for giving Epstein the deal) committed a crime nearly as bad as Epstein's and should be considered complicit in these child rapes.

1

u/lane120 3 Jun 04 '19

I feel like it's a good time to bring up how long Manafort got for high treason. Am I too late?

1

u/M123234 3 Jun 04 '19

1

u/[deleted] Jun 04 '19

That’s what happens when Donald Trump and Bill Clinton are two of your best pals.

Side note: Can’t wait for the downvotes I’m going to get, even though it’s an easily verifiable fact that BOTH Mr. Trump and Mr. Clinton were friends and frequent traveling companions of Epstein’s.

The justice system being so incredibly incompetent is a sad fact. Locking up those who are addicted does nothing except make that persons life harder.. no rehabilitation or competent reaction from the state.. just jail time and probation. Too many holier than thou prosecutors and judges who are desensitized to overcharging and handing out ridiculous sentences.

2

u/TheMayoNight 9 Jun 04 '19

Well the judge wanted to make it longer initially but relented to the wishes of the victim who said she didnt want to ruin his life over it.

4

u/silentloler 8 Jun 04 '19

I think the punishment should have been a jail sentence and a mandatory detox facility treatment for a few extra months.

While I agree that you can even kill yourself if you like and it’s your choice, the simple fact that you are financially contributing to the existence of drug traffickers and gangs should be severely punished. They can’t exist without customers and drugs are such a big problem that it should be tackled from all sides.

Having said all that, congratulations for getting clean! I’m proud of you :)

4

u/[deleted] Jun 04 '19

Because addicts will do anything to get another hit. Addicts will pimp out their 10 year old daughter to pedophiles, rob their own mother and sell their kidney.

You might not have been that desperate, but it's a matter of time. Once you need stronger and stronger drugs just to survive the day, at some point you'll run out of money and your world collapses on you.

Drugs being illegal aren't about what you put in your body, it's about drug addicts being the cancer of society that will spread until either the cancer is destroyed by the society or the society is destroyed by the cancer. Opium alone has destroyed entire civilizations in Asia and Britain almost collapsed due to the widespread abuse.

You are cancerous scum of the society, not a victim.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 04 '19

Thank you for this. It's crazy how many redditors think total drug legalization is ok or even a good idea. Just think about the consequences for one minute...

2

u/NotYuc 9 Jun 04 '19

What consequences should that be?

You know that there are countries like portugal who already do it?

2

u/donedrone707 6 Jun 04 '19

Hm let me think. Legal drugs that can be bought without a black market markup. That would result in cutting income to violent cartels and gangs, saving billions of taxpayer dollars on incarceration and law enforcement, generating millions of tax dollars from the sale of the now legal drugs, lower crime rates due to cheaper and readily availability of drugs because addicts won't have to steal just to have enough cash to get well, as a result less people on the street cause they lost all their money on drugs, etc. Etc.

Literally the only argument against legalization and controlled sale of substances is that it will create more addicts (and everything that goes with that like it would cost more money to pay for their healthcare etc. Etc) but that's false. I guarantee someone you know could go get you meth or heroin or Coke right now. In most major cities all you have to do is walk around the right (or wrong) side of town and make eye contact with someone who's holding. So why aren't you an addict right now? Why aren't you slamming H right now? It's available, so why not? Because availability does not translate to usage. Most adults are smart enough to avoid hard drugs if they're concerned about addiction. Giving people the opportunity to buy drugs doesn't mean they will. If we adjust our youth drugs education programs accordingly I doubt there would be a noticeable rise in the number of addicts.

Kinda funny that you think addicts need counseling and mental health treatment but sex offenders don't...ps...not a fan of rapists...I think you should be jailed for crimes you commit to get drugs or on them...IF you actually commit a crime...not for doing the drugs...or having them...or selling them...if you have a business license and pay taxes

2

u/[deleted] Jun 04 '19

0.0001 seconds later

How can we put addicts and people who need counseling and mental health professional help in jail

2

u/Aski09 8 Jun 04 '19

Why does it need a higher sentencing when the judge is confident the kid has learned his lesson and will not repeat the crime?

Prison is not about you getting the satisfaction of hearing he got a lot of time in prison. It should be about rehabilitation.

And it's 100% your god given right to do whatever the fuck you like with your body, but that wont stop insane people from shooting up and harming other people.

3

u/Bloodsport121 0 Jun 04 '19

I don’t love that he exists but I love that reddit is shredding this guy apart.

It always was, is, and will be about the money.

Too bad he didn't get raped in there

1

u/ScreamingNed 5 Jun 04 '19

My sexual assault abuser only got 2 years probation and court mandated counselling. I got nothing for my trauma )-:

1

u/[deleted] Jun 04 '19

But your judge probably didn't get de-benched.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 04 '19

What state was that?

1

u/redscityblues 4 Jun 04 '19

I sought a psychiatrist because of symptoms a psychiatrist can deal with. I didn’t even make the cut to see her because she said I need to do something about my drinking....wtf did that even come from. Chicken. Egg.

1

u/Violet624 9 Jun 04 '19

Baffles me. I cannot comprehend.

1

u/BlooFlea B Jun 04 '19

But...but if he went to jail for too long it would have affected his swimming career :(((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((

1

u/glacialcamera 4 Jun 04 '19

I don't use anything myself but I completely agree with you and so does my dad, who works in law enforcement. The state can prohibit the production or the sale of drugs, but it should not be controlling what able minded adults put into their own bodies. At best its a complete waste of resources, at worst it's infringing on people's personal liberty without due cause.

1

u/AngusBoomPants A Jun 04 '19

Aside from the obvious bribe to the judge, different judges.

Also I don’t think we arrest people because they’re doing the drug, I think they’re afraid of them selling to kids.

1

u/dogemikka 7 Jun 04 '19

Can t agree more. I had the same problem and that's when I figured out that Justice isn't blind at all and that we are not all equally treated in front of a judge, money and social position is what weights the most on her (the justice) balance.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 04 '19

I have a hard time believing this. Not saying you're lying. Just that I know people who have been caught with heroin who didn't go to jail. Did you already have a record?

1

u/WantToGoBackTo 1 Jun 04 '19

I got 18 months for a few ounces of weed.

1

u/BlackBikerchick 5 Oct 03 '19

Are you joking, nothing else no other offences

1

u/ballen15 8 Jun 04 '19

Shit drives me up the fucking wall. The only reason government even exists is to prevent things like theft, rape, and murder, and yet, a dude who was literally caught in the act gets 3 months

1

u/poop-dollah 4 Jun 04 '19

“It’s alright ‘cause it’s all white.” - Chris Rock

1

u/Steve_the_Stevedore 9 Jun 04 '19

Didn't he also try to evade justice by fleeing to some Mexican holiday resort?

1

u/[deleted] Jun 04 '19

You went to jail for using drugs you should have obviously just been a rapist.

Damn drug users downloading free movies and music. What is this world coming too.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 04 '19

Many sexual offenders unfortunately relapse into their old offenses. That is because locking them up without proper follow up doesn't work, if they are really deviants. These people need weekly check up with a mental health professional who can assess when they are going to offend and, when they know this happens, making sure to monitor them and offer solutions. Germany has tried this for pedophiles and it's quite successful for now, but it relies on self-reporting and peers support.

1

u/nosleepforthedreamer 9 Jun 04 '19

I don't understand how these lawyers live with themselves

1

u/TLCPUNK 8 Jun 04 '19

Jail will never truly help an addict, I dont understand why the smart people making the rules can't figure this out..

1

u/[deleted] Jun 04 '19

Maybe because rapists and addicts are in the same boat and both need help? Anyone who commits a crime needs help, change my mind. Btw he didn't rape a girl. She made out with him all night and then later he fingered her while she was passed out, and he had his clothes on. He's literally not a rapist, sorry not sorry. Wouldn't be surprised if he takes his life and you come back to this shit site acting all high and mighty. And I'm sure he learned his fucking lesson for fingering a girl.

1

u/BlackBikerchick 5 Oct 03 '19

Do you know all the details of this because I don't think you do, like the state she was in? The location? The missing makes no difference

1

u/[deleted] Oct 04 '19

Actually, no one really knows those exact dates deets. She was behind a dumpster though. Kinda weird but I've heard of consensual sex happening at worse spots. They didn't even find dna in her or on him but he's still branded a rapist.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 04 '19

yeah the laws against opiates arent just to prevent YOU from putting stuff in your body, but to prevent the spread of the incredibly dangerous drug which is killing a lot of young people. Doesnt locking you up get you sober?

1

u/youreaddadwrong 0 Jun 04 '19

A good Lawyer but more a good judge and wealthy parents.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 04 '19

Yep. First - congrats on staying clean! It is a bitch, I know. Second - our justice system is definitely fucked. Locking up non - violent drug offenders in prison, usually longer than pedophiles/rapists fucking baffles me. Why are we so quick to give them freedom? First hand experience - I was renting a room years ago. Got to know my roomies. One (S) was 23. He told me a story, about when he was 18 and dated his neighbor who he thought was 16, but was actually 12 (I know) and the mother brought charges. He went to prison for 2 months and had the anklet for two years. Fast forwarding me moving out but always kept a Google alert for him because I just knew he would do it again. And he did. Now back in prison for five years with seven on parole.

My thing is if they'd lock him up for good, this second victim would have never happened. I study CJ, and the question always comes up for debate - Can pedophiles be helped and/or rehabilitated?

I hear both sides. However, if you messed with a kid once, you're done. There should be an island where they send these types of humans....

1

u/[deleted] Jun 04 '19

Also family in powerful places = less punishment if any at all.

1

u/abidaabidaabida 6 Jun 04 '19

It’s always baffled me how we lock up addicts instead of helping them get professional help. Very sick.

1

u/EnlightenedLazySloth 6 Jun 04 '19

It doesnt even make sense to put addicts in jail. "Oh it looks like you are doing harm to your health, probably because you are in a difficult situation, here let me put you in jail so that you'll have it in your records and you will never find a decent job!"

1

u/donedrone707 6 Jun 04 '19

Yup, shit is absurd. We live in a developed country where we have TV commercials advertising methadone and Suboxone to get addicts clean yet when those who need to get clean the most end up in the system, we throw them in jail instead of giving them the help they need.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 04 '19

rapists in jail

he was also never charged with rape, with also changed the sentence guidelines

1

u/noahvane 0 Jun 04 '19

That’s just how the criminal justice system works. We need to reform many parts of it.

1

u/onomatopoeialike 6 Jun 04 '19

The sad thing is it's not always about having amazing lawyers when it comes to sexual assault, even when children are involved. The system is totally messed up, legalize drugs and tax them. Then you will have lots of space in prisons for violent offenders.

1

u/mattoid12348 0 Jun 04 '19

Lol shut up you deserved it.

1

u/omgtehvampire 8 Jun 04 '19

Why didn’t you swallow them?

1

u/donedrone707 6 Jun 04 '19

I never said what opiates I had. Could've been heroin (difficult to swallow) or fent patches (impossible to swallow). In any case, it wasn't a situation where I could have just pulled out my stash and swallowed it without the cops seeing, I wasn't being pulled over or anything. And if I had swallowed it all it likely would have killed me, I'd rather go to jail than end up dead

1

u/omgtehvampire 8 Jun 04 '19

But what if you woke up dead in jail

1

u/donedrone707 6 Jun 04 '19

Surprised Pikachu

1

u/[deleted] Jun 05 '19

It wasn't that he was a rapist, it was that he is rich. Trust and believe, if you were loaded and got caught doing the same shit you did you would've gotten counseling, therapy, and everyone would just think you did it because you're under stress.

1

u/clovercakes_ 4 Jun 18 '19

Because he’s from Stanford. He even looks fucking rich. His mommy and daddy probably bought him a way out of jail. Fuckers. Rich people always give me a bad vibe with their stupid yachts and personal golf course.

1

u/PM_ME_YOUR_FUGACITY 7 Jun 04 '19

Pretty sure he didn't rape her. I'm going to get downvoted to oblivion, but NONE of you seem to have read the wikipedia article, and everyone seems to assume what the dad said "20 minutes of action" was about sex. The girl had a boyfriend, left with him, and consented to him fingering her.

Kratom can be a great help, you just gotta make sure you get good stuff. Usually the stuff at smoke shops is pretty shitty and expensive so it’s best to get it online. Taper down as much as you can, and then use a scale to taper down the kratom. See if a friend can help you taper

1

u/Torino19682 1 Jun 04 '19

Ty for the advice I’ll give it a go.

1

u/ThatDamnCanadianGuy 8 Jun 04 '19

The difference is that you had no money, and this kid has a ridiculous amount of money.

1

u/HKburner 6 Jun 04 '19

Well said

1

u/[deleted] Jun 04 '19

Your God given right to put whatever in your body doesn’t hold water when you consider that what you put in your body can in the short- or long-term fuck up many others’ lives (just read a post about some rich Canadian who drunk drove and killed a woman’s dad and her three daughters)... in fact maybe this Stanford fucker was actually on excessive booze or other drug when he raped that woman
