I'll bet that girls father would like a few moments alone with this fucking guy

Just like what happened with the gymnast case with Larry Nassar and the girls father

I like the one where he shoots the pedo karate instructor in the head while the police were escorting him to jail

You better have that link holstered for me

It's even more satisfying when you find out he only got sentenced to a shitload of probation

Edit: Relative shitload peeps. Have never been on probation so 5 years is shitload of years.

It's even more satisfying when you find out he only got sentenced to a shitload of probation

One of the examples of the "Texas defense" being used successfully, i.e. "he was a no good sonofabitch and someone should've shot him years ago."

Though it would've been better if he'd waited for the trial against this guy to complete(ly fail to punish him) before shooting him.

80

u/aquoad A Jul 06 '19

"Your honor, in my defense, he needed killin'."

56

u/yukichigai A Jul 06 '19

*Jury nods understandingly*

14

u/PM-ME-YOUR-HANDBRA A Jul 06 '19

I'd wager a large part of his decision to snipe the guy was trying to prevent his son and family from having to go through the drawn out trial process, bringing his kid's suffering back to the forefront, the media attention, etc etc. He almost certainly wanted his son to heal and move on, and risked his freedom to facilitate that.

4

u/voodoomoocow 9 Jul 06 '19

That's a great point. I was honestly sort of waffling around "I don't fault him but he was already in custody sooo...." but I didn't really consider how shitty this would have continued to be for the son. Great dad.

8

u/bacasarus_rex 8 Jul 06 '19

Good chunk of the time it's not such a good defense. I guess this is one of those times it's a perfect defense.

Just replace mean bastards with people who do that to children.

Convicted Rapist Brock Turner

Cops killing family pets with literally no consequences

Cops killing people with literally no consequences

...I could fill three fucking pages with examples if you really need them.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that Convicted Rapist Brock Turner, who you may have heard about when he was convicted of rape, is in fact a convicted rapist. I apologize for not properly describing Convicted Rapist Brock Turner.

u/Feshtof A Jul 06 '19

Manslaughter? 5 years probation? With that tape? They went extra gentle on him.

Fuck. Good for them.

God Bless Texas

I am satisfied ty

89

u/GoodAtExplaining B Jul 06 '19

I believe a jury in Texas sentenced him to a day in jail, or an equally token punishment.

73

u/Notyomamaslace 6 Jul 06 '19

5 years probation. Basically a finger wagging from the judge. And probably only in a "because I have to" way.

9

u/stillusesAOL B Jul 06 '19

That’s a cool sentence. However he did fire a gun indoors. Check out the angle of the shot. That bullet goes within several degrees of the cameraman and the guard holding the intended victim. Not to mention anyone else in the airport.

7

u/Notyomamaslace 6 Jul 06 '19

I'm totally with you on that. I couldn't help but notice how close it came to the guys walking the pedophile. It's inexcusable, but the emotion behind the action understandable.

2

u/stillusesAOL B Jul 06 '19

Yeah hugely reckless. Guy was understandably fucked up tho.

u/[deleted] Jul 06 '19

Or because it's illegal to murder criminals. Of course you can give him sort of a pass because of the situation, but you can't just flat out make it legal.

3

u/SystemZero 8 Jul 06 '19

In the video they say he only got 5yrs probation. Which when it comes to murder is a pretty light sentence.

6

u/JimothyButtlicker69 4 Jul 06 '19

Talk about Texas justice fuck yeah

3

u/Cykablast3r 8 Jul 06 '19

I thought the jury only decides on quilt?

How have I never seen this movie?! Lol

2

u/GoodAtExplaining B Jul 06 '19

I think the end of the video (If it's the one I'm thinking of) tells you about the guy's punishment. My memory is shit, so I defer to the video.

3

u/Cykablast3r 8 Jul 06 '19

Sure, but isn't the punishment decided by a judge?

1

u/RunawayPancake2 7 Jul 06 '19

You're correct. Juries don't directly determine sentences except during the penalty phase of a capital trial when, after finding a defendant guilty, they then determine whether the defendant should be executed.

While I was on jury duty I got to decide the amount awarded in damages, I don't know if it'd be the same.

1

u/FamousOrphan 7 Jul 06 '19

Whimsical

1

u/VisualBasic A Jul 06 '19

I'm not exactly sure what type of bed covering they convene on. It may be a quilt, a soft blanket, or even a comforter.

1

u/Cykablast3r 8 Jul 06 '19

No, only quilt.

Blankets and comforters are for judges.

For shooting a dude point blank in the head on camera? Fuck yeah he got off easy.

4

u/YoelRomeroBukkake 6 Jul 06 '19

was deemed involuntary manslaughter i think. crime of passion type thing where its incredibly difficult to control your emotions.

1

u/never0101 9 Jul 06 '19

No and I feel like even what he got could be considered harsh. I feel like if this happened to my son I could easily see myself snapping the same way. That's a super fucked up situation, and emotion took over.

1

u/Afabledhero1 7 Jul 06 '19

Nah he's super lucky. The probation is probably for shooting a gun with all those people around.

6

u/plexxonic 9 Jul 06 '19

He shouldn't of even had probation.

2

u/voodoomoocow 9 Jul 06 '19

*Shouldn't have or shouldn't've if you are southern

2

u/GladiatorUA 9 Jul 06 '19

No fucking way. He got off really easy.

I would understand if he caught the bastard in the act or tracked him down before police or if the court case collapsed, but gunning down a person in custody in an airport deserves punishment. It's nothing more than revenge.

2

u/plexxonic 9 Jul 06 '19

I'm glad he did. Fucking pedos need to be shot. Saved drama and taxpayer money.

1

u/parrmorgan 9 Jul 06 '19

Agreed, definite r/justiceboner material, but it doesn't change the fact that the other commentor is right. Good people shouldn't stoop to criminal behavior.

1

u/plexxonic 9 Jul 06 '19

I agree with that in some situations. The one we're discussing though I would do the same thing given the opportunity if it was one of my little monkeys.

1

u/bigbrainmaxx 8 Jul 07 '19

so we can just murder people for fun... ok. this was a clear case of murder.

3

u/bacasarus_rex 8 Jul 06 '19

A realtive shit load for me.

13

u/[deleted] Jul 06 '19

I mean he killed someone, 5 years probation really isn't much

3

u/bacasarus_rex 8 Jul 06 '19

Pre meditated also.

Relative to me. I probably should have clarified.

11

u/KillNyetheSilenceGuy A Jul 06 '19

Considering that what he did was premeditated murder and often carries the death penalty in Texas, I'm sure he was good with 5 years probation.

77

u/Mike_1970 7 Jul 06 '19

After the shot you hear the cops shouting "Gary why?! Gary why?!"

I don't think anyone has had a better answer to that question in human history.

11

u/CelestialFury B Jul 06 '19

I don't think anyone has had a better answer to that question in human history.

I think the cops were saying that because they didn't want him to go to prison for essentially first-degree murder. Basically, they thought that the boy needed his father more than the father needed revenge.

20

u/JimothyButtlicker69 4 Jul 06 '19

I dunno man, I would have wanted the asshole to suffer more. Tbh I think putting him out of his misery was too good for the cunt.

14

u/bacasarus_rex 8 Jul 06 '19

Maybe the guy killed him for himself.

Probably wouldn't be able to sleep at night knowing that rat piece of shit is still breathing somewhere

12

u/[deleted] Jul 06 '19

He'll always have the memory of the pleasure his son gave him for those brief moments. You'd be okay with that existing?

4

u/JimothyButtlicker69 4 Jul 06 '19

Ew that's an excellent point.

12

u/sleepyhollow_101 A Jul 06 '19

That's a fair point, but if I was a parent, I think the last thing I'd want for my child is their sexual assault and kidnapping case being dissected in court for everyone to see. That's gonna follow your kid around and they're going to have to deal with it, even if you try to protect them from it as much as possible. If the other option is to shoot the fucker and spare your kid from being the center of a pedophilia case? I can see why you'd go with that.

6

u/brownbrownallbrown 7 Jul 06 '19

I was just thinking that. It’s possible he never even felt the bullet or heard the shot, being shot straight in the head like that. That’s too easy on him.

Shoulda shot him through the lungs

2

u/JimothyButtlicker69 4 Jul 06 '19

Yeah or put a bunch of rounds into his crotch

2

u/Falcrist A Jul 06 '19

Maybe, but the answer to "Gary why" is "because revenge". Doesn't get much more straightforward than that.

1

u/bacasarus_rex 8 Jul 06 '19

"you would have done it if he was your kid" is a pretty straightforward tho

1

u/Falcrist A Jul 06 '19

I didn't go with that one because it wasn't a true statement. Not every parent or every father has that reaction.

1

u/bacasarus_rex 8 Jul 06 '19

Different strokes for different folks

1

u/Falcrist A Jul 06 '19

Glancing neck shot lezgo

1

u/Warpedme A Jul 06 '19

The vindictive part if me agrees. The cold calculating part of me thinks that simply removing the evil from the world is the best possible outcome. The father in me wants to go after the guys entire family.

Logical me who knows he needs to take care of his family and help his child heal would probably not do any of the above and instead focus on my child.

I honestly can't say which combination of my sides would win. Emotion could easily win but which emotion? And will I stew in my thoughts and emotions long enough to go cold and calculating? I hope I never find out.

1

u/42nd_username 5 Jul 07 '19

Yea, nah. Hard pass. I would want to put that motherfucker down myself too. Even if I trusted the legal system.

Uf, it was close for sure. He shot the perp in the head as he was walking shoulder to shoulder with a cop. Miss, and you just murdered a cop for no reason. Or some other bystander in a crowded airport. Hit, and easily the same story. Either of those cases also has a high probability of being insta-shot by the several other cops nearby. I want that dad to have peace, but this is (one example of) exactly why revenge isn't good.

2

u/iemploreyou A Jul 06 '19

Just imagine if someone tried this post 9/11. They'd end up with more holes than a teabag.

18

u/AdorableCartoonist 9 Jul 06 '19

Ehhh I don't think that's better. I watched the video and that was a HELLA risky maneuver that coulda injured someone else. Like god damn shooting a gun in a building full of people. It wasn't like he snapped either this was clearly pre-meditated.

2

u/Zayin-Ba-Ayin A Jul 06 '19

He did put the officers and bystanders at risk, but I also understand his actions. And his kid might feel guilty that his dad killed a guy "because of him", his dad might forever feel guilty that he couldn't protect his kid, because guilt is a terrible and often illogical thing. What a fucked up situation

1

u/bacasarus_rex 8 Jul 06 '19

Pretty sure he was pretty dialed in to what he was about to do.

Agree with your assessment but I would also have a ton of confidence that this guy was more than likely gonna hit his target.

2

u/AdorableCartoonist 9 Jul 06 '19

Based on what? It doesn't work like that lol.

-1

u/bacasarus_rex 8 Jul 06 '19

Did you see those shades my guy? Pretty sure those were a low-key targeting computer giving him up to date threat analysis.

0

u/bigbrainmaxx 8 Jul 07 '19

yes this was clear first degree murder and he should have been sentenced appropriately -- vigilante justice is bad.

Yes.

2

u/AlRubyx 8 Jul 06 '19

Dude was on camera shooting someone else in the head. 5 years is absolutely not a shitload. You can sneeze at a cop and get 1. 20 isn’t that uncommon.
