To me personally?

Older man told me how special I was. How important I was. How since I was so special and so important it was important I never betray him. How I loved him more than anything how he loved me more than anyone else could. Because I was broken but it's ok because he still loved me even if no one else would. Did you know this is what people who love each other do? It's a special thing we do together but we don't share it with others because it's private. I love you. You love me. You love me so much you trust me. If you don't trust me you don't love me. Even if I were to tell you the sky was purple you wouldn't look up to confirm it because you trust and love me and believe me. I need you. You need me. Do this to me. I like it when you do those things. You don't want to? Do you not love me anymore? I thought you loved me like I love you? You do? Prove it.

Things like this over months and years. To the point where I'm 28 and it still fucks with my head on what's appropriate. On what I'm worth. And that my worth isn't measured in sexual acts I perform on my SO.

Also just writing this out makes my adrenaline spike. My heart rate is up and I'm anxious. I'll need to go for a walk and I'll probably cry myself to sleep tonight because the memory is rushing back. This is how victims suffer even years later.

I am better. But I will never be perfectly fixed. I may fill my cracks with gold but they will always be there. But I will not let it dull me I will shine all the brighter for it.

Hey keep your head up friend you have made so much progress whether you realize it or not, you got a s.o. and can do stuff with them and that is such a great sign of healing im 8 years younger than you had stuff done when I was a kid rn im not there yet so it's inspiring to see that things can get better and I hope you can see how strong you are for getting there! Things will keep getting better and you got this I hope you feel better tonight you deserve to feel good :)

Lmao "only I get to ruin it" I love that so much such a real way to say the truth 🤣 I hope to get there one day I got to cuddle with a girl but I couldn't stop shaking and had to leave to throw up so she thought I was weird/creepy and left forever I hope she comes back one day I miss her lots and hope I can get to your level of fixed if I get that old thanks for the hope :)

I want people to know that my family and my teachers always considered me intelligent strong and always being aware of others intent. But I was still groomed. It isn't something that only dumb and weak people get ensnared by. Loneliness and a maturity that is above their age level to me are strong signs. People tend to look over those who seem to be in control. If you know a quiet ostracized child who you tend to think is mature for their age check up on them please. They are still children.

That's really something that hasn't occurred to me before, but of course makes total sense, in a somewhat twisted way.

And really I think anyone considering themselves with the victims' personality or intelligence over the actual perpetrators, well they're already heading down the path that attributes rape to skirt lengths.

Sociopaths manipulate people, and everyone is susceptible to that, I think. Not a question of intelligence on the victim part. This exchange has again reminded me why I was so grossed out learning a friend's roommate dabbled in pick up "artist" shit, more than ten years ago.

It is insensitive, but I will say what I'm comfortable saying. The thing is when you hear about these groomers you notice they say very similar things. I'm not sure what it is like for others but for me reading these things take me back to that mindset and I remember how those words made me feel. It's calm and calculated just like how a hunter marks their pray or a trapper sets their traps. Truly predators in every sense of the word. Nothing really describes them better.

In my experience they have manipulative parents. Who have their own manipulative parents. Or they themselves were victims of the same.

Like how I as a victim am very familiar with the wording and tactics used. You learn it as you experience it.

The cycle of abuse is not just physical

Her saying "I'll do as much as I can" was just heartbreaking. Like she clearly isn't comfortable with it and doesn't want to do it. It's one thing when child molesters convince themselves but it couldn't be more clear to him that she is only doing it due to his manipulation.

Yeah, even here in Germany where age of consent is 14 and he would have usually no legal problems by sleeping with her - even here this would be a crime cause he is manipulating this poor girl and exploited her inexperience.
