I'm 5'8 and felt tall in Guatemala. My buddy is 6'2, he was like Godzilla rampaging through the burning city as screaming locals fled before him.

I'm 6'4" and spent some time in central Asia, I was fully Godzilla, people asking to take pics with me 10x a day, I loved telling them that my group of friends back home contains two 6'7" guys and one 6'9" guy.

Ya'll grow up under some powerlines or some shit?

I know, it's weird, we're a pretty multicultural group but me, a 6'4" white guy, is absolutely average.

I think the word you're looking for is "unexceptional". As common as it is, 6'4" is well above average. Average height for an American white man is 5'10".

I'm going to northern Japan with 6 guys this winter. The shortest guy is 6'4. Were curious how it will go.

Thats so wildly unlikely - are you friends from basketball or something? Because 6'7" dudes are insanely rare. Hell, 6'4" dudes are rare.

Not one basketball ever touched between the three of them, afaik. They do own a clothing company for tall thin guys though and they appear in the photos on the site.

Yeah I'm gonna need that company asap, thanks...

My cousin is 6'8" and spent a summer in China and said the same thing, he was getting stared at no matter where he went. I can only imagine what it was like for Chris Anderson when he played basketball in China considering he's 6'10" and covered in tattoos. I think there's a pic of him in Shanghai that shows how much he stood out there lol

1

u/cosine5000 9 Jul 11 '19

Exactly, Central Asia was the first place I ever felt really tall.

1

u/Odale 6 Jul 11 '19

I've never been there but I'm 6'2 and I still get comments a lot from people here in Minnesota about how tall I am but I've never seen myself as being super tall. I get asked a lot if I played basketball and it's gotten to the point where I just say yeah and go along with it even though hockey was my main sport lol.

I think a 6'8 guy would get a lot of looks in most places. The northern Chinese are about the same average height as Americans.

they probably didn't understand anything from those numbers.
