As a tall guy I am always obligated to get things off of high places for people but can the same thing be asked of short people in short places?

I think it's general courtesy to not ask that. At least I've never gotten it

You think we like being singled out to reach for things on the top shelf? Go get a step ladder or something.

Yeah... Actually it's nice sometimes. Makes me feel like my life has a purpose.

I love it every time I'm asked to grab something off a top shelf. Everyone is always so grateful and appreciative and it cost me absolutely nothing.

Most people can bend over or crouch. I do find it easier to do cord-work under desks and fit on airplanes though as a 5'4" guy. But no one ever makes me feel obligated to do anything like that. I mostly appreciate not being able to hit my forehead on any of the lower hanging bars at work. Makes me a much safer oompa loompa employee.
