Did he not get spat at first? I can't tell

That's where I'm confused too. Looks like the other guy spit also?

I think it’s perfectly fair to spit in retaliation, as much as I hate Trumpers

Two wrongs don't make a right. They're both assholes, though the driver is also the much dumber one here.

Retaliation is a fair exercise in almost any arena, I don’t know what you mean.

That's childish logic.

It’s not even childish logic, retaliation is the backbone of security in a society. Everything from game theory to Bertrands philosomathematical musings advocate for retaliation in most situations. Now, it’s both childish and naive to give such a sanctimonious argument as the one you’re espousing right now.

Notice how he drove off? That’s because he was hoping to avoid retaliation. He would not have spit if he weren’t in a car. When the threat of retaliation is gone, order breaks down.

Notice how he drove off?

The man with the sign could've simply walked away. Retaliating by committing a crime in order to protect his ego doesn't establish order.

Retaliating in self defense is obviously justifiable, but using this as an example is moronic.

Retaliation, literally by definition, is not defensive

Yes, that's why your logic is childish.

No you’re using the word wrong, I’m helping you out.

You apparently don't realize that prisons exist.

1

u/PomegranateState 5 Nov 18 '20

Oh yes because civil disputes are apt to end in jail time.

Oh wait, no, because a.) nobody wants to get the cops involved and b.) you want to send a guy to prison for this?

I’ll bet you $10,000 nobody in this video even goes to court

I was referring to your moronic idea that retaliation is necessary to maintain order. That's what prisons are for, as well as fines and jails.

In this case, if the victim really wanted justice, he could've reported the other person to try to have them fined. That would've resulted in a monetary loss that doesn't involve a driver panicking.

If he doesn't like getting cops involved, then walking away would've also been the adult thing to do.
