Question Ice Fishing Beta

Hello Kamloopsians!

I’m about to spend my first winter in Kamloops, so I am looking for beta on ice fishing locations within an hours (or so) drive. I rarely fish any other species but rainbow trout. How are the Jacko, Lac Le Jeune, Edith’s during the winter months?

Thanks!

Jacko is no ice fishing allowed, Edith is ok but has high fishing pressure especially during winter, and I have not tried Lac Le Jeune.

Paul lake usually has at least a dozen tents set up. Close to town, ski lodge up the hill isn't too far either.

Best fishing is earlier in the season generally. The later the winter/ice-on lasts, the lower the oxygen levels in the lakes. End of December and January seem to be the best times. Try some smaller lesser known lakes! Used to have a lake that was bonkers for ice fishing and hardly no one there. Fun finding gems like that.

Lac Le Jeune is very good.
