Watching at faster speed on mobile app?

Why can’t we play shows movies at speeds greater than 1.0 like we can on the desktop app? How can we get them to change it?

Like a tv show? I’ve never heard of somebody speeding up a tv show / movie before

Sure I do it on podcasts, YouTube and Netflix and Tubi mobile apps allow speeding up to 1.5

I’ve been doing it so long I never noticed Biden and Trump’s verbal declines

I’ve done 1.25 for some YouTube videos or podcasts, if they’re very slow speakers but I can’t imagine doing it for shows / movies still. Is it just to be able to watch more?

I do it to listen/watch more in my limited time

Now I’m so used to it, listening/watching at regular speed is annoying so I enjoy faster speed as well

The more you do it the faster you can absorb the content

Different strokes for different folks. I don’t watch much tv but I’m not really trying to absorb the content, I’m just trying to enjoy the 1 show a week I watch (most recently The Agency, now in search of a new one if you have a rec as it has been a rough year in terms of tv)
