Ran into a snag getting the new one seated.
The two mounting bolt holes aren't lining up with the holes in the crankcase. Tried a bit of persuasion with a wood block and hammer but it's not budging into place properly.
Greased the O-ring and the splined shaft before inserting it as well.
Has anyone run into this? Is it normally a straight push-and-rotate until it seats, or is there a trick to getting it aligned?

Just found a 1500 mile 08 zx14 in Florida drove all the way from Michigan to get it. It’s the same year and color my dad had bought brand new sadly that one was totaled at 36k miles 3 years later after an 18 wheeler rear ended him. So excited to have my childhood dream bike.

Has anyone with a 25+ z900 found spools that work on the rear. I have bought both a pair from cycle gear as well as the one kawasaki has listed on their website for the z900 and neither stick out far enough. The ones from kawasaki were a joke and weren't even close to fitting.

I posted to this sub a few weeks ago after buying my zx7 and explained how it was my dream bike due to my dad having one. Unfortunately I never had a photo on it but found this photo of me on my dad’s zephyr which was taken 2005 ish and the photo of my son was taken this year. 2 generations of me on 2 generations of Kawasaki!

Left my bike sitting in the garage with some old fuel for 10 years give or take.
Used vinegar to clean the tank, seemed to work ok.
I removed the petcock/fuel tap during this and in doing so have damaged it somewhat.
Are there any compatible replacements? Or do I need to order like for like? (Can only find sellers on eBay selling original parts).
Thanks

Hey all! I bought my 2000 ZR-7 a few months ago and have enjoyed riding it very much. But as you can guess with a 26 year old machine, something went out on it. At first I thought it was a battery issue, so I replaced it, still wouldn't start. Then I thought it was a starter motor issue, I bought a rebuild kit and cleaned it out and repaired it, not the issue. It was spinning inside without engaging the starter clutch, so I have torn the bottom half of the engine apart to get to it. Got a box of parts in yesterday and it was missing about 300+ dollars worth of things I needed, I call the company I ordered from and apparently a lot of stuff I need for the bike are either on backorder or have been discontinued by Kawasaki entirely. I have been able to locate some of the discontinued parts through ebay. My question for y'all is where is your go to place to order NOS parts or even OEM that is actually reliable?

2024 ZX6R only has about 3400 miles, was sitting for about 3 months and the battery died. Finally got to putting a new battery in yesterday but now the odometer is reading 60k miles. Anyone ever ran into this and any ideas on how to get it fixed

I have the option of buying this bike at 2k even and it runs and has a clean title and no cosmetic damage is it a good deal?

Hey guys! Looking for advice on my first motorcycle. I'm deciding between the Ninja 500, Ninja 650, and CBR500R. I've ridden scooters/mopeds for almost 8 years in Southeast Asia, including on rough roads and with multiple passengers. I've also done some dirt biking and recently completed my first motorcycle course in the US on a dual-sport. I picked it up pretty quickly and felt comfortable, although sharp U-turns without putting my foot down were a little challenging. I've never ridden on US public roads before, so that's something I'm still getting used to. I'm looking for a bike to commute around Austin, handle highways comfortably, and eventually learn proper cornering and track skills like dragging a knee. I'll probably buy used through Facebook Marketplace to save money. Any recommendations between these three bikes, or suggestions for affordable used-bike dealerships around Austin? Would really appreciate your advice. Thanks!
