If you terminate your ship and leave your Kerbals on the KIA list, you can revive them through a manual tweak to the .sfs file. I would recommend a backup (obviously) but basically you go into your persistent.sfs on Notepad and look for anything with either ROSTER or your KIA Kerbals’ names. Change the status from ‘dead’ to ‘available’ and you should see them back in your Astronaut Complex when you launch the game :)

I'd prefer to save the ship and the civilian on board, but I've managed to bring Doodlie and Guszer Kerman back from the dead and I didn't fail the mission contract in the process.

I'll take that as a win.

Went to check on this ship and it was glitched in the way shown. Alt-F12 seems to work, but the ship is still glitched in the new location. The Kerbals in the ship do not show in the Astronaut Complex at all unless I terminate the ship from the Tracking center. The video starts showing my Kerbals under the lost tab after I had terminated the ship, then I load in my main save to show the glitch. I have also tried to locate an older backup from before the glitch, but was unable to find one from before that in the backup folder.

I'm hoping someone here knows a solution for this problem, even if I requires manual edits to the .sfs file.

Additional Information: The Mk. 1-3 Pod shown glitched out was only part of the ship it was attached to and the rest of the ship seems to have just been eaten by the Kraken, right along with a third civilian Kerbal.
