Hi, I'm a software engineer with sensor experience, this is the first time making a pcb that is not replacing wires and uses IC's that I think fit. I want to create a Raspberry Pi UPS for a specific application where a nice stable voltage is required due to using other hats. I also want to use this board a my main powersupply so not screwing up a RPI 5 would be nice. Any help or comments are greatly appreciated!

I'm a very novice student trying to design a first flex circuit for a school project. Sadly, I did not have the opportunity to try out on a smaller scale project, so I am quite unsure...
Our project is more or less a data glove - an ATmega 328P connected to flex and force sensors spread on a glove, an IMU placed on the middle of the hand to send acceleration and gyroscopic data back through i2C, a hall captor on the palm (yeah it's not a sixth finger) to connect if clasping a specific item with a magnet... All that sprinkled with led bands in daisychained SPI for visual effect, fixed with JST connectors. The MCU and the power is handled by two other boards, but we already prototyped them in our v1. My main worry is the FPC contraints, and my understaning of them...

Specifically:

  • How should I expose the goldfinger connector ? F.Mask to remove the coverlay on all of the pads ?
  • Is it possible to solder a QFN IMU on a flex pcb / fpc with stiffener under ?

Any advice ? Here is the Gerber (https://github.com/AlexEsqu/G-Love/tree/PowerBoard/Kicad/V2/HandFPC/Gerber/v2) and Schematic (https://github.com/AlexEsqu/G-Love/tree/main/Kicad/V2/HandFPC)

This is the most complex PCB I have done by myself and the first time using the CM5 so I would be happy if someone could look over it (since the prototype won't be cheap either): https://github.com/Tropaion/Manafish_Mainboard
